Hi does anyone know if ivf continues over Christmas time as normal?

Hi. My private clinic did. They weren’t really doing routine appointments but we’re doing transfers, collections etc and planned accordingly for these so no one ‘missed out’ as such over the Christmas holidays. So nothing was happening in Christmas or Boxing Day.

The NHS clinic I was with closed over Christmas.
I'd expect private clinics to be more flexible. I have been private but not at that time of year.

Mine (private) shut down for just over a week so they didn't allow you to start a cycle if it would mean you needed to go in during that week

Most NHS clinics close. My private clinic was open every day except xmas day and Boxing Day I think.

I did a cycle at xmas time though and regretted it. Just too stressful and anxiety through the roof. The cycle failed too so felt like it ruined the whole xmas period

Hmm interesting, thank you.

Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it

Good point @ivfbeenbusy, I actually did a cycle with my NHS clinic but downregging over Christmas, being super careful the whole festive season and the cycle got cancelled because the downreg worked too well and shut down my ovaries so well that I didn't respond to stims.

@festiveivf that isn't a common scenario, I don't want to scare monger but it did make the sacrificed Christmas season feel even worse! Long protocol just didn't agree with me though.
