Private IVF costs in Scotland

We’re tentatively waiting for some results which will indicate if we need IVF to conceive.

We’re not eligible for NHS treatment so I was hoping someone with experience would be able to give me some advice on how much we could expect to pay for a cycle. We live in Edinburgh so could easily travel to Glasgow too.

It depends where you go. All of the NHS clinics to self funding and thats around £4K including meds for 1 cycle. Although they are not accepting self funding due to covid. GCRM in Glasgow is your only private option in Scotland, around £5k including meds. They do funding options though. Hope this helps.

Not sure on the prices but Aberdeen are offering self funding. They stated on one of their latest updates if you were considering that to get in touch.

Hi there, it sounds like I'm in the same position as you! Edinburgh based but NHS is not an option for us so we'll have to go private. Ideally we would have gone the self funding route in Edinburgh but I think we'll have to go to Glasgow..kind of annoying! we have our first consultation at GCRM at the end of this month. From what I've read it looks like about £5k but agree its a bit of a minefield when you're a newbie to this like me! I think we might go down a multi cycle route as that may save a bit of money. @Uhtredwaere we done ICSI in Edinburgh, which cost us just under £5k. I can’t remember the exact amount, but it was a couple hundred pounds short of £5000. We were successful in our private cycle.

@Uhtredwaere which option did you decide to go with? I’m researching Glasgow at the moment..although their first availability for a consultation isn’t until the start of August :(
