Possible miscarriage

I had a 5 day embryo transferred and got a positive result. Went for a scan at 7w 4 days and was told they couldn't find a heartbeat and the baby was measuring 6w instead of closer to the 7 w Mark. The dr said the embryo was deep in my womb and since I have an Inverted uterus it may be that they can't get a clear view. I was told to get a second scan in a weeks time.

I know deep down it's bad news but just wondered if anyone had experienced similar and had a positive outcome?

@lboogy sorry you’re going through this stress.
I have just recently went through this. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a positive outcome (sorry. Just thought I would message incase you need to chat with someone).

I had a scan exactly at 7 weeks. And the embryo was measuring 6 weeks. There was no heartbeat or fetal pole. Could they see a fetal pole with you?

I was scanned twice again a week later to check.
I hope you have different results with your next scan. Good luck

Thank you, I had a scan yesterday and it was as you said, not a good outcome.

I was told to wait for 2 weeks for things to progress naturally but I asked for the pills to move things along as I can't cope with 2 weeks of waiting. They referred me to a different hospital to get the pills. I found the whole process very distressing so I've no intention of going to another hospital.

I'd rather suffer 2 weeks than deal with the overworked staff at the nhs

@lboogy yeah, it is really hard. Sorry for your news.
I waited around 2 weeks to see if things happened naturally. I bled during this time, went for a scan and the sac was still there. So, I was given the tablets, and these worked for me. I didn’t have any pain either.
I hope things go ok for you.

Thanks @BeHereNowx32 thanks for sharing your experience. I have decided to go and get the pills on Friday. It's agonising waiting for things to happen naturally.

I'm glad to hear you didn't suffer any pain because that's what they warned me about.

Do you think you'll try again?

@lboogy we have to go through ivf to conceive. So, will use our last frozen embryo. If that’s doesn’t work then we won’t try again. But we are lucky to have one child already. You? Best to think about things later on once all is settled back to normal though, I suppose.

I was sooo worried about the tablets. They were taking about vomiting, pain etc. I didn’t have anything bad. Hopefully you have the same experience. It’s very emotional though.

All the best x

@BeHereNowx32
I have one child from ivf too. I've only ever conceived naturally once. We have unexplained infertility.

We have a couple of embryos left too so once I've gotten over this I'll think about trying again.

Good luck whatever you decide to do and thanks for replying

It helps knowing there are other people out there going through the same thing

@lboogy just realised this thread was on the infertility board and not pregnancy board sorry!

Thank you. Good luck to you too.
