IVF abroad after Covid, maybe France

Hello, it turns out there is a huge wait for NHS IVF where we are, partly due to the lha messing up referrals. I thirty-five, thirty six in May, and we're thinking of going abroad after Covid. Self funding on NHS isn't an option while they catch up and there is only one private clinic near us, which we are considering but also looking at going abroad if Covid buggers off. We are taking it seriously before anyone gets cross with me.

Ideally I'd love to go to France. I have lived there, have family there and I speak the language. Does anyone have any experience there of IVF in France? Have seen a lot on here about the Czech Republic but nothing about France really.

Thank you.

Not me personally but I know someone on Health Unlocked forums did
I believe they are very good for IVF but much more legally restrictive on who can have treatment - ie for single women, same sex couples etc

Thank you. Do you think they'd be ok with a couple in our mid thirties? Are they good clinics?

Assuming you speak French as you've lived there you could look on an equivalent French forum for recommendations of clinics in the area you're interested in.

If someone was going abroad without any connection to a particular country I'd be recommending Spain, Czech Republic, Greece but only because they are well known for fertility clinics.
I had treatment in Spain and met people of different nationalities in the waiting room including many Italians because their IVF rules are pretty strict.

There was a poster on here living in France but can't remember her name, maybe a search will find her?

Thank you. I have heard good things about Montpellier. It's quite a trek from where my family live, though.
