Irregular period - Starting Clomid

Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help give me some advice. I have been having regular periods for the past 6 months. I'm waiting on an IVF referral and so went to see my gynae last week, I was told to take Clomid on the 2nd day of my period for 5 days. Now i'm worried that i might not get the period i am due in 2 weeks, could this be my period? and should i start taking Clomid now?

Sorry, i forgot to include in that post that, i suddenly started bleeding 2 days ago. The blood is bright red and has been quite heavy today. I don't know if this is an early period or if it is just a random bleed? If this is an early period and i miss the next one, i wont get a chance to take Clomid before my appointment on the 28th Oct, the appointment is to discuss if Clomid has started taking effect.
