Hello ladies, I’ve been told due to DH’s issues with his sperm morphology & motility we will need ICSI to get pregnant.

Please could you give me your personal recommendations on why you used? Was you successful? How did you find the clinic & doctors as a whole? Theres so much information & so many clinics I’m trying to do as much research as possible to help us have our much wanted baby. Thank you so much!

Hi hun, sorry you have ended up on this journey. Our problems are similar to yours so we were in your same shoes trying to choose a clinic back in June.

We ended up going with the Lister after recommendations off two other people. Although my fresh transfer ended in a chemical I’m still happy with the clinic.

They had no waiting list and I started meds on the following cycle after we had our consent signing meeting.

I am happy with the amount of monitoring I had but have no comparison to other clinics. I had the same consultant for my egg collection and transfer but she isn’t my named co consultant, this didn’t bother me as she was lovely.

Never had an issue with the nurses or any of the other staff. All polite and see you if you are early.

They take a while to answer the ivf nurses phone but you can always get them to call you back.

Each consultant has a secretary who you can call directly to arrange or move appointments.

Any other questions i’ll be happy to help x

@Nobunintheovenyet thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I’m so sorry you had a chemical pregnancy. My heart goes out to you 💗 I really hope you get your baby longed for baby.

The Lister is on my list! I’ve been reading lots of reviews, their websites & the HEFA website. I don’t know anyone who has gone through the process so forums like this are amazing.

What do you think about their pricing compared to other clinics? From what I can see they are all quite similar in their prices and just seem to list things differently.

How did you find the IVF or process in general? Did you have ICSI?

Thank you again 💗

Thanks 💜

Well we payed for the multi cycle package with Access fertility it was £10,500 with ICSI. Have you looked into that or you just going to pay as you go?

The process wasn’t too bad, the injections i didnt mind too much and had minimal side effects until i got to the Progesterone. I was quite uncomfortable leading up to egg collection but i’m sure thats the same for everyone.

Whats hard is the waiting. You are constantly waiting. This is no reflection on the Lister its just the ivf process in general.

If your interested we had 12 eggs collected, 10 fertilised, 8 made it to day 5 so have 7 frosties! X

@Nobunintheovenyet

I hadn’t heard of Access Fertility until you mentioned it. Thank you! How many cycles would that allow you? Does it cover all of your medication & all your transfers? Did your clinic advise you whether to do a package or pay as you go?

I’m right at the start of the process & have only known a week that we will need IVF so I’m not quite sure yet.

That’s reassuring about the injections. I have to admit I’m finding this quite overwhelming at the minute, there seems to be so much to know.

I think waiting is one of the worst things with TTC in general too. It’s that constant cycle isn’t it & wishing the days away. Plus the worry & anxiety.

They are great numbers! If you don’t mind me asking, did you yourself have any fertility issues? What sort of tests did you need to have one before the IVF process?

Thank you! x

Hey sorry I’ve took long to reply.

So my package is multi cycle so I get 2 egg collections and all the frozen embryos that come from them. But its in to order.... egg collection - fresh transfer - (transfer one by one each of your frozen embryos). If that still doesn’t end in a baby then you do it all again. Hope that makes sense. Does not include meds. I got mine from asda and was around £700, didnt bother to get a quote from the Lister. My consultant said buying in to a package was completely our decision and she wouldn’t sway us either way. I only know about it because a family friend also bought it for their ivf.

You will learn so much from forums and google. You’ll feel like an expert lol.

So we had all of our bloods done via nhs which saved as alot. They do basic blood teast FBC, U&E. you then have thyroid test and bloods to check ovulation. I had to pay for my amh level, both of us needed HIV testing and corona tests (£85 each 🙈) I had to have an internal scan too which we payed for. I have no issues my AMh was slightly low for my age but dr said nothing to worry about.

I hope the journey goes as smooth for you as possible xxx

@Nobunintheovenyet

No need to apologise at all!

Thank you, that makes sense. Was hoping that price would have been all in but I guess kind of impossible to know until your actually in the process. Didn’t realise you could get your meds from Asda! That’s good to know too.

You are right, the amount I have learnt in a week is unreal but I’m feeling a lot calmer than this time last week.

Thanks again for your help & your kind words. I really hope your next time is your time 💗

Hey ladies I’m here same position wanted to ask u when u said u got ur meds from Asda what meds did u get please I am lost in it all :(

Nobunintheovenyet · 28/09/2020 08:42

@justjen87 I didn’t look much further than Access but there is another company that do something similar but had a mind blank on the name but am sure they don’t include meds either. Oh totally forgot to say that package includes an early pregnancy scan at around 7weeks but no blood test to check pregnancy and at my clinic the blood tests are £70 each! It does however cover you for one round if you end up testing positive for corona, i thought that was pretty good.

@Cass1177 hey hun sorry you’ve ended up on this path. Yes ASDA pharmacy supplied all my meds for my egg collection. They don’t add VAT on to meds thats why they’re cheaper.

Hope you two are ok today x
