Hello,

I have started taking clomid first time from 28th july and since then i never had full period.

Blood work says i havnt ovulated this cycle ans so does the temperature.

I have PCOS and always have irregular cycle.
Have anybody ever experienced Anovulatory cycle after taking clomid?

This is the first time where my temperature didn’t raise and i always see higher temerature for 12-15 days before periods.

I just tried Clomid for the first time this cycle and I didn't ovulate. No LH surge and when they did an ultrasound they didn't see any follicles. The past 5 cycles I ovulated on my own and had somewhat regular periods (without taking Clomid or any other drug). Before that I had a pregnancy and a miscarriage. I'm really scared that my ovulation won't come back after this :( I guess I'll find out next cycle. The nurse said she had never seen this happen before and I have yet to talk to my doctor (have an appointment next week).

@waffeletten89
I am in a exactly similar situation, even i use to ovulate on my own every cycle, had a misscarriage in dec last year waited 2 months after then.
Periods are highly irregular 35-53 days so doctor advised clomid.

One big concern i have is i have experienced a lot of spotting this cycle. It happend for 5 days around day 37-41 and then day 52-57.

The last one was very high similar to day 4 periods.
Was that the real period?
Have you experienced similar thing?

I haven't had any spotting but I'm only on CD 24 of the clomid cycle. Also I forgot to mention I've been taking Progesterone (Prometrium as a vaginal suppository at night) for 12 days starting a couple days after each LH surge...although this time since I had no LH surge I just started taking it on CD 19 after the ultrasound where they found no follicles. The purpose of the progesterone is to help my hormones in case I get pregnant just in case I have a hormonal issue. But I also hear that the drop in progesterone after I stop taking it at the 12 day mark can induce a period, so I'm hopeful I will still get a period at the end of this cycle. Will keep you posted. Let me know how it goes with you.

I've been scouring the internet for any information about Clomid stopping ovulation but I haven't been able to find anything. The only other person I saw who posted about this was @MildDrPepperAddictionon in this forum back in 2013 and she was saying that Clomid stopped all her ovulation/periods/etc. but it sounds like she was able to conceive eventually after seeing a homeopath. At least it is promising that the clomid didn't stop her ovulation forever.

So just to give you an update, I got my period after coming off of the progesterone like I usually do (don't know if it would have happened naturally or if the progesterone helped bring it on). I went in for an ultrasound the day after my period started, and they saw that a cyst had formed on one of my ovaries. They said it is most likely a harmless cyst and that it is pretty common. However, they also said that the fact that there is a cyst indicates that I must have produced a follicle at some point, either before the CD19 ultrasound or afterwards (like maybe a follicle started growing very quickly after the ultrasound). They seemed to think it was most likely before my CD19 ultrasound, which means I must have ovulated because otherwise they would have seen the follicle on that ultrasound (I guess after ovulation the follicle shrinks back so you can't see it anymore?). This would mean my OPK testing didn't catch the LH surge. This seems crazy to me since I tested every day, 3 times a day, and I started testing very early in my cycle (CD 11). I also used the same pregmate strips that caught my LH surge in previous cycles. Also I didn't see any temperature spikes to indicate that I had ovulated. So anyways...who knows, maybe it is possible to ovulate without the positive OPK or temperature spike showing up! I still don't believe it though, I feel like it must have occurred afterwards, and I didn't do the OPKs after the ultrasound since the nurse said it wasn't happening that cycle. They took a quick blood draw to see if the cyst is producing estrogen and as long as it's not, they are going to let me try Letrozole this cycle. Hope things are going well for you

Hey @waffeletten89, hope things go well with you.

I didn’t had my proper periods but a bit of heaving spotting for 5 days two times like i mentioned earlier that may be my actual period because i think i have ovulated after that.
I was using the clearblue for ovulation testing bt they always gave me that static smile, was using the femometer opk strips(amazon one) which never displayed peak.

But few days after the last spotting i was able to see the surge, a much darker one then the control line and that was definitely a positive opk.

My temperature is high after that and i think i am 12 dpo.
I am not very hopeful of seeing a positive this cycle but atleast my periods will come.

Just one thing, i started using inostol supplement for 4 gm since for a full one month, not sure if that regulated the flow.

Hey @waffeletten89,
Thought to update you, my AF arrived too today.
So i did ovulated the correct day where those cheap LH strips picked up the surge.

That's great!! I'm on the Letrozole now and have 2 follicles. Seems like Clomid was just not the drug for me. I've read that Clomid doesn't work as well as Letrozole for people with PCOS. Pretty relieved that my ovulation came back...phew
