Ivf - chemical pregnancy

Hi everyone

I had Our first FET in August and on OTD we got a BFP.

Last week I tested again ( week after otd and it sure why I did Confused) and it was negative.

I went to our ivf clinic who did a blood test confirming that it was a chemical pregnancy and that we would have a follow up in 6 weeks to discuss the next protocol for another FET ( we have 10 embryos)

Does anyone have any similar experience and positive stories? Ivf is so hard and it feels cruel that this has happened - but from the clinics point of view they said it's positive that we did get a BFP?

Part of me wishes that this could happen naturally, whilst I am grateful that we have another appointment to do another FET - the prospect of doing this again is really daunting.

Any advice/ stories would really be appreciated

Thanks

Hi @moneyonmymind Sorry for your loss .. has your clinic told you why this happened - there theory on it before just trying with another FET ? Please ask you clinic to explain you why this happened or provide some kind of assurance besides just bad luck. If this is your 1st failed cycle, pls dont worry much but do ask the clinic to review properly before next cycle.
reading your post i recall my own experience. I also went through early m/c in 7 weeks after FET in July..i started bleeding heavily just a day before viability scan ( palm size clots - sorry TMI) and rushed to my ivf clinic.. nurse couldnt see anything in scan so it was termed as chemical pregnancy.. my hcg blood test came really high so not sure what went wrong.. i didnt have a good feeling about the pregnancy on OTD day as my line was really faint (almost no line) on clinic provided pregnancy kit. Though it kept getting darker but ended up in m/c. I also had 10 embryo from my fresh cycle and i had a freeze all due to over stimulation.. have all top quality embryo but had 3 FET and all failed - either no bfp or m/c. I feel that the batch was not good but my clinic is unable to provide a solid reason. I am
planning to move to another clinic as i am quite clueless as to what has gone wrong everytime. I have thyroid but in control and besides that no reason i can think off/aware to help understand so many ivf failures.

@duckhouse thank you so much for your reply. It sounds like we are both in similar situations as the exact same thing happened to me hence freeze all cycle!

The clinic haven't said anything about reasons why but I am hoping that I will get the answers in November . I'm really sorry you have had failed cycles - have they given you any reasons at all? Were the protocols different each time?

I did want to ask them the question of a "bad batch" is this even possible?

Sending you lots of love - this whole journey is SHIT!
