Hi,

I’m wondering if anybody has any experience with PCOS and light periods?

I’ve been TTC for over a year now although not every month and a few times in 2018, and not managed to get pregnant. I have a little girl aged 3.5 and also had another pregnancy in 2017 that could not continue.

Haven’t been to dr’s yet or looked any further but my last 2 periods have been very light, almost like spotting and vary between 24 to 27 day cycle.

I have PCOS and found that my periods have gotten lighter as I've gotten older. They were horrifically heavy in my teens and 20s but slowed down once I hit my 30s, obviously that's just my experience. As I understand it I think as long as you are ovulating and giving a period, the heaviness doesn't make a massive difference to trying to conceive.

thank you ! I was just wondered if it was a tell-tale sign, I never had really heavy periods, but they're getting lighter and lighter! Thank you for your reply x

I was told not to worry about that from my fertility specialist. I had one natural pregnancy in that (that I sadly miscarried at 11 weeks) and luckily got pregnant on my first attempt at IVF so my lining must be fine! If you are really worried ask your GP, but I dont think it's anything to worry about.

Best of luck xx
