Hi, it was the first cycle so felt very lucky! Still do! We did SMEP and I used ovulation sticks too.
I felt unwell a few days before I ovulated but not sure if it was just a stomach bug. I felt fine while taking the tablets.
We have gone privately this time so still need to do a blood test and scan before I get my prescription.
Are you ttc your first?

Gee1235 · 18/09/2020 10:09

@starfishy oh wow I bet you was so relieved fingers crossed it works like that the second time!!

Yeah trying for our first did not even begin to imagine it would be this stressful when we first started 😩 we have done our clomid privately too while we wait for our nhs referral for ivf if we need it in the future as the waiting list was so long and they said they would try me on clomid first of course anyway!

Just finished my first cycle on it, which sadly didn't work, but going straight into another cycle. It wasn't as bad I thought it would be, took my pill before bed so slept through worst of the side effects and only had a few hot flushes in the daytime. Good luck!x

Are you guys on Clomid because you aren't ovulating or is it for another reason?

I'm pretty sure I ovulate but I have irregular cycles. The dr at the clinic said that Clomid might help to make the cycles more regular (which will make timing dtd easier).

We also have make factor (low motility) but the clinic said we could try Clomid for a few months before deciding to go for IVF. Obvs that wouldn't help with male factor but may give us more chance if I can at least have a regular cycle.

Gee1235 · 19/09/2020 14:45

@Dbop100 taken my first two pills now so far so good! Oh fingers crossed for your second lot! X

@Smoby Im taking it because I've got pcos and as a result have really irregular long cycles because I'm not ovulating! So giving it a try to see wether it can make me ovulate! We have slight male factor also with low morphology but they said clomid May be worth a go for a couple of months then we will go on to IVF x

@Smoby I'm taking because I have low ovarian reserve, which is a less common reason for taking Clomid. I ovulate regularly but it's meant to make me 'super ovulate'. Only doing 2 cycles before IUI or IVF - fingers crossed this last round works!x

Slightly random question but has anyone had a Clomid side effect of getting a small painful lump in your armpit? I also just had a hcg trigger shot so hoping it's come from the hormones and not something more sinister.

Side note - pretty sure it's not something like an ingrowing hair.

starfishy · 01/10/2020 10:07

I'm taking it because the consultant doctor thinks I don't ovulate regularly enough. Some months I might but most of them I don't.
Apparently just because you have a period doesn't actually mean you ovulated that month (unlike my GP seemed to think!)
