Operation or ivf ?

Hi, posted in chat first but didn't get a reply.
If anyone could help me make a decision I'd be so grateful!

In abit of a predicament really. I was due to have ovarian drilling procedure back before Covid happened but obviously it all got cancelled. This op was for pcos and to hopefully boost chances of conceiving and to look for possible endo.
So because it got cancelled we decided to just go for it for private ivf.
Now the hospital have been in touch saying they are ready to put me back on the waiting list for the operation. We've had our consultation for ivf and currently awaiting our treatment protocol.
Also should mention since the last nhs investigations dps SA has come back low sperm count where as before it was all fine and only me that had any issues.
Now I'm confused and don't know what to do! I'm thinking is the op even worth it now with the male factor problems too? Also been reading how there is a chance the drilling can possibly damage your ovarian reserve, so am I possibly taking a risk for a procedure that wouldn't make a difference now anyways?
I guess my question is would you go for ivf or have the ovarian drilling first ??

Sorry to hear your op was cancelled -my friends was too. I would speak to the consultant and do a risk assessment. You could do a round of ivf as a test run whilst you wait for your op. How crucial is the op for implantation success? If the consultant says it would really increase your chances it may be worth waiting rather than throwing money down the drain (although not if it results in a pregnancy!) Or you have your op done privately xx

Thanks for replying! I've spoken to the consultant now and he seems to think the op would now be pointless considering there is a male factor issue ! Which is what I was thinking myself tbh. Just so frustrating as I was waiting for this op for so long and now it's come around at the wrong time
