ABC IVF - egg collection on Saturday - Too early???

Hi, I started my treatment with ABC Harley street in August.
They put me on Bemfola 100 which I thought was very low. But they assured me that it's the right dose for me and haven't upped the dose. I had my scan yesterday
Follicles - LO - 19 mm, 17mm, 16 mm, 14 mm, 2 10 mm, couple under 9 mm
RO - 13 mm, 11 mm, 2 9 mm and rest under 9mm
I have to take ovitrelle tonight and egg collection is booked for Saturday morning.

I am worried that follicles are not big enough or not too many. Also, egg collection is a bit early compared to my normal ovualtion days.

Have your experience been similar? Any thoughts will be helpful as I don't want to stress and spend time googling like crazy.

Tbh, I trust them but at the same time I am worried.

ABC are cheap because they only do very mild stimulation and accept low risk/easy patients so have everyone pretty much in the same dose (they are nurse led not consultant led)

I'm with Create their sister clinic and I'm sure it's pretty standard to trigger when the largest follicle gets to around 19mm (but hormone levels also play a part)

I got mature eggs from follicles 14mm and above on day of trigger so I'd expect you to get at least 4 follicles (you might be lucky and the 12mm might have a mature egg)

I know that doesn't sound many but that's part and parcel of ABCs low cost

I ovulate naturally anywhere between cycle day 12 and 17 - my egg collections have all been around day 12/13 so it doesn't really matter when you would have ovulated naturally as they are controlling the process with the ovitrelle as that will enable your eggs to be collectible 36 hours later

@ivfbeenbusy thank you so much for your reply. May be i am thinking too much. Are you with ABC too?

@skot

No I'm with Create the more expensive sister clinic as it's only 10 mins away from where I live whereas the nearest ABC is over an hour x

Don’t know if it will help but I was having a similar panic before egg collection because at scan before trigger I had 5 follicles above the 16mm, all the others were smaller. I think the Tigger made some of them grow quickly because somehow got 12 eggs. 11 fertilised. I think as @ivfbeenbusy said it also depends on the hormone levels. Would try not to worry if you can.

Thank you @ivfbeenbusy and @Koalabear23
The hormone levels look ok so hopefully all will be well tomorrow

I'm a bit worried that mine aren't big enough. I have one at 19mm, 15mm, 14mm, 13mm, 12mm, 2 at 11mm, then one at 10mm, 9mm and 3 or 4 at 8mm. I've been stimming for 12 days so far. Egg collection will be weds or Friday next week - glad they're letting me on longer, but worried as the 15mm, 14mm, and 13mm haven't moved on my chart since Monday, they've just stayed the same! I'm worried I will just have the on 19mm and the rest won't grow.

skot · 18/09/2020 18:13

@BewilderedBee - do you have anymore scans next week? There is still a lot of time between now and wed/Fri next week. What is the doctor saying?

OP posts:
BewilderedBee · 18/09/2020 18:20

Just said keep stimming really! And that it's a far better response than last cycle - which we cancelled! Those that have stayed the same are on the right ovary. Which includes the leading follicle which has consistently grown from the beginning. My left side hasn't responded at all, but today it's shown some growth for the first time. It's as if the stims have only impacted the leading follicle on the right ovary and the left which are tiny!

BewilderedBee · 18/09/2020 19:51

Sorry @skot forgot to say I'm getting scanned again Monday x

skot · 18/09/2020 21:47

@BewilderedBee someone told me anything above 14 mm is good. You still have a few days. So hopefully you will have some more by then. Don't stress too much. Which clinic you with?

BewilderedBee · 20/09/2020 17:20

@skot I'm with ABC x

skot · 21/09/2020 18:50

@BewilderedBee - how did your scan go today?

OP posts:
BewilderedBee · 21/09/2020 19:12

@skot aww thank you for asking, its really nice of you to. We're going to keep stimming. We have 2 'ready' and the smaller ones have grown a fair bit but the ones in the middle that I need to catch up haven't grown much at all! Another scan weds then possible EC on Friday or Monday! I'm day 16 today so I'm feeling I'm very different to most ABC cycles who have usually had EC by now. Worried it will impact on quality, but who knows?!

skot · 21/09/2020 19:22

@BewilderedBee - all the best for Wednesday and your cycle. Stay calm and have faith in the process. Hopefully, everything will work out in your favour.

Thank you. How did you get on with your cycle @skot ? Xx

skot · 21/09/2020 22:22

@BewilderedBee - I just got my bloods done today. Very low HCG level. They have provided referral letter for EPAU; and have to go there urgently. But due to Covid no one's accepting walk-ins. Will see how it goes tomorrow.

Don't worry about me though. Just focus on yourself for now.
