Gut health and implantation

Has anyone taken a probiotic from embryo transfer on through two week wait? I’ve been reading a lot about how gut health can link to our fertility and general well-being. Would it hurt to take one just in case or?

I had an actimal every day during my two week wait, only because I was getting thrush from the pessaries, and I had heard it helped with thrush. It did sort it out, and I did get a bfp. I’m obviously not medically trained so can’t say if it helped, but it says on their website they’re safe during pregnancy.

@Racinglikeapronow I too do hugely believe gut health has a huge impact on overall health, including fertility. Furthermore, it seems like your gut microbiome is directly passed on to your baby, so it's well worth investing in it for their health too.

As such, while waiting for NHS treatment, I'm currently trying to use the time to improve my gut microbiome. I think probiotics can help, but they're not the fix-all answer for everyone. It depends what your current state of gut health is. I myself was diagnosed with a mild case of SIBO earlier in the year (this was while I was already taking probiotics), and I've been taking anti-microbial herbs since to help fight any bad bacteria that's lingering (this can be from international travel or food poisoning years ago, etc). That's had a huge positive impact for me - and I'm supporting my gut in other ways now such as taking ginger tablets (or you can make ginger tea), to help move things along in the gut. Diet has a huge impact on gut microbiome too, so make sure to be eating enough leafy greens and a diverse range of vegetables every day.

It's a big area, so defo research and see what improvements you can make aside from probiotics alone.
