Low AMH & Clomid

Hi,

I have a low AMH (4) and low antral follicle count (4). My husbands sperm was good. We're not 100% sure if I ovulate correctly. My day 21 bloods were lower than expected for ovulation but then my cycle was 30 days so I think it was done too early. I always get an LH surge on day 14 of my cycle so always thought I ovulated on day 15. I do have very light 2 days periods. Its been suggested we try clomid before ivf. I'm not really sure what the clomid would achieve with me. I have very regular periods and I'm really worried about my low AMH and follicle count. I want to go straight to ivf to be honest. Anyone had any success with clomid and a low Amh?

When I've got my AMH results I was 37, the result was 2.9pmol/L, or around 0.4ng/ml. I was shocked. By that time I was ttc for about a year.
I was advised to start ivf immediately, but as my husband was a light smoker, we had to wait for 6 months after he stopped.
During that time I've tried everything- acupuncture, herbs, all kind of supplements( turmeric, royal jelly, bee pollen, macca root and many many more including dhea), 4 months later I checked my AMH again in a laboratory abroad , it was even lower result around 0.1ng/ml, I am not sure if it was correct as I know these tests are often wrong.
Anyway, 7 months later I've started ivf, only 3 follicles, I have cancelled the cycle, 2nd ifv again 3 follicles - I chose to cancel again, as it was nhs cycle and I was allowed to only one cycle and i didn't want to loose it and I was hoping to a better result with different medications and doses.
Ivf 3 , again 3 follicles, this time I had to go on. So 3 follicles, 2 extracted, 2 mature , both fertilised abnormally. I was surprised they didn't go for ICSI with such a low number .
ivf 4, 3 follicles , 3 mature, 3 fertilised ICSI, 2 3dt BFN
IVF 5, 3 follicles, 3 mature, 3 fertilised ICSI, 2 3DT BFP

I have 2 gorgous twin boys atm.

Quality over quantity, don't loose hope

After TTC for 16 months or so we were told I had a low AFC (7) and AMH (6), and that this was the likely cause for the lack of success. Husbands tests were all fine. We're both 31. We were advised to go straight to IVF by our consultant and everything I've read online supports that too. We were told at our age our chances of success should be good as eggs and sperm should be good quality! I'd be inclined to go with what you want to do, especially if you're paying privately. Or at least ask the consultant more questions if you're unsure. We got very lucky with one viable embryo from our first round and I'm currently almost 19 weeks 👍😃

Also to add, from what I've read there is nothing you can do to improve your AMH from a lifestyle/supplements etc perspective. It just is what it is sadly. I did in a weird way find this helpful to know though!
