Hi ladies
I'm so confused - we went to private clinic for couples assessment as been ttc since last December with no luck (I'm 39 and DP is 37). Neither of us have any children.
GPs blood tests showed annovulation.
Private clinic results showed:
- AMH 32
- 8 triple layer lining on CD12 (good apparently) on scan
- immature follicles at CD12 on scan
- Very good sperm count and mobility but below normal morphology (2%)
The consultant recommended IVF but said I may be over sensitive (per AMH result) so low dose required.
He said they have a 3 month wait list and he would put us on that for IVF. Also said that he will try Letrozole for the three months in between as he thinks I'm either not ovulating or ovulating late. I explained that we would be away for a week in two weeks (during the period I would need a scan) and he said not to worry, I could get the scan the day I'm back as it's still within the time range for checking the follicles.
The clinic has daily meetings between the consultants at the end of each day and he said he just needed agreement from the team on the above.
Later that evening we got a message confirming the above and saying "we agree that ovulation induction is a feasible way forward and have put you both on the waiting list for that, and IVF".
WTF. Am I being silly but why is there a waiting list for a prescription? Is this normal? It's a private clinic - I don't understand.
That was last week and I rang on Friday and today to ask for a callback and no returned calls. My period is due tomorrow so I was of the opinion I'd be starting the tablets this coming cycle i.e this week.
I was so looking forward to this month feeling positive to get the tablets and now I'm frustrated and confused. Can anyone shed any light?
