Hi! We've had our consultation and hopefully will be starting ivf soon.

I have pcos but have been on metformin for the last 6ish months and I'm now having regular periods so the consulatant seems to think that's a clear sign I'm ovulating. Unfortunately though my partner has had another semen analysis (his last one was about 15 months ago) and his sperm count has significantly dropped. It was well within normal range last year apart from some slight morphology issues. Now all of it is below average. This may explain why clomid and metformin etc hasn't been working.

Does anyone have any info on how likely icsi is too work considering we both have issues?
Thanks

Hi @cosmo30 I also have PCOS and my husband’s sperm count was very low. We had to have a freeze all due to risk of OHSS and are having our first FET next month (if all goes to plan). So I don’t know yet whether this will all lead to a baby, but ICSI worked well for us - I had 15 eggs collected, 13 were mature, 11 fertilised and we ended up with 10 day 5 embryos frozen. So I’d say there’s every likelihood it can work!

Hope all goes well for you x

Hi @HavingFaith thanks for replying!
That sounds really positive, How're you feeling about it all?
Yes the consultant said we would be having a frozen transfer too due to ohss.
I was quite surprised dp sperm count has changed so much in a year too!
How did you find the injections etc?

Hey! I’m similar to you and likely to have frozen too. It’s worth getting your partner on proxeed plus..my parents sperm went from needing ICSI to standard IVF within 6 months of taking it. I started my injections only yesterday - so far so good. Just a bit of pain and bruising around the injection site but other than that! Xx

@JandL2020 hi! Yes I will look into that for him if it's going to help. Just abit of a shock really all the time I was kind of blaming myself thinking why is this still not working when I'm ovulating!
Did they hurt? I'm more worried about getting confused hopefully I won't have lots of different injections to do
