Think I can officially join this board now 😢

Been ttc for just over a year with no success. I'm 41, he's 40, no previous children on either side. I have regular 28/29 day cycles and do ovulate (opks and bbt).

Had all my blood tests which came back normal, partner has had his SA results this morning and it wasn't good news.

We suspected there might be an issue on his side as he had undescended testicles (both) as a baby which wasn't rectified till he was over 2.

SA results have come back with good motility but very very low sperm count. He's being referred for blood tests (testosterone ? Which is booked for 11th September).

Have had a look and we would get 1 cycle of ivf (with icsi) funded if we want to go down that route. We have broached the idea of adoption though I'm less keen on that idea.

@claireb707 my story is very similar to yours. Although I have PCO (no S) and we have no explanation over his poor results. You're very lucky that you get funding for one cycle - I'm 39 and because treatment didn't start before I turned 39 we get literally nothing. I'm appealing it at the moment.

Thanks, it's not confirmed we will but based on what it says I think we will. Because we have a known cause, if we didn't have that we would have to have tried for 2 years before funding and then I'd be 42.

Damn covid causing delays on everything too 😢 we could have had his SA done in March if it hadn't been for covid

@claireb707 same - all my scans etc were booked in and then it all stopped. The funding cut off in my area is simply based on age rather than any known causes so I definitely get nothing. I've emailed my MP this morning to ask for support.

There are other criteria that need to be met as well, I didn't qualify due to my AMH level. If you haven't checked already your local CCG website will have full details xx

I have, there is nothing in the document to suggest that other criteria need to be met. So 🤞
