Straight on to next FET?

I’m up alone eating my way through a massive bag of Doritos, because I had my first FET 9 days ago and got a positive 5 days after transfer. However, since then, my FRERs have faded out to nothing and I’m feeling very sorry for myself indeed. My OTD is Saturday, but my clinic doesn’t do betas at the weekend, so I have to wait until Monday.

My cycle was unmedicated aside from a small injection of ovitrelle after transfer.

Soooo - straight on to the second attempt? Or have a month off? I’m 41 so don’t have loads of time to spare, but I do wonder if I need a bit of time ‘off’ before going again, but part of me just wants to crack on with the next try.

Sorry to hear you're going through this.

I can't see why you would need to wait unless you don't feel emotionally ready. I'm around the same age so understand the pressing need to just crack on with things.

Would you be going for another FET or a new cycle? If you are using frozen eggs, you don't need to worry about time as much as the uterus doesn't suffer from the same sort of ageing issues that affect the quality of eggs.

See how you feel physically and check with your clinic. Good luck x

Oh I’m so sorry about the outcome. How rubbish to see that positive and then for it to fade ☹️ I had a BFN after FET in July. Have gone straight onto next FET hopefully with transfer next month. Am doing medicated FETs though so slightly different (they take sooo long so really didn’t want to skip a cycle and I’m also 41) but I’d imagine back to back natural cycles or a medicated after a natural cycle wouldn’t be an issue from the clinics point of view? For me I find it harder hanging around between cycles so this works out better for me although it is quite exhausting. Good luck whatever you decide. X

I got up this morning and put my big girl pants back on after my pity party last night Grin

I asked my clinic if I can go straight in to another attempt after this bleed (which I’d now just like to hurry up) and they said yes, so from a physical point of view, it’s not a problem, but I just wonder if emotionally I should have a quick breather.

Although I don’t feel as battered and bruised as I did when I had IVF (5 years ago now), this tww has been pure mental torture. I have also spent a small fortune on pregnancy tests and so, so much time looking at and comparing pink lines like a crazy person Blush

I have a bit of time to decide while I’m waiting for the bleeding to start. I imagine it will be delayed slightly because of the hcg coming out my system. It’s so hard to know what to do for the best!
