Has anyone done this and been successful? My local health authority say you have to have started treatment by your 39th birthday to get a free round of IVF - I'm 39.

Technically not as we had our first consultation in Feb and scans booked for April which did get delayed to July. I was 39 in March.

Hmmm well with your birthday being in March I would say you have a strong case of appeal. Your scan was cancelled due to Covid and we put into lock down in March. Hancock in May said reopen fertility clinics time critical for patients like yourself. I would write to your MP and put complaint in. It does seem unfair. Also seek support from fertility network. There must be others faced with your situation as well xx
