IVF - cyclogest - ET - OHSS

Hi!
First time posting on a forum, ever! We're going through our first round of IVF (TTC 2.5 years, unexplained infertility... I do have endo) & have our day 5 ET booked in for tomorrow - but I hadn't anticipated how thoroughly beaten up I'd still be feeling from the egg collection!! I've spent most of the week worrying about OHSS, but am now wondering if the extreme (& tender) bloating and heartburn/epigastric pain (esp in the morning) is actually a reaction to the cyclogest twice daily pessaries?? Am going to the loo fine (in both ways!) and no weight gain, and drinking lots of water & having lots of protein. Worried about having the transfer if my body isn't in good health (having spent so long getting it in good health! eating super healthy diet, yoga, pilates etc). But keen to have transfer rather than freeze if possible! And obviously hoping that our embryos hang in there for tomorrow! (21 follicles gave us 14 eggs, of which 8 fertilised, and as at day 3: 4 good quality, 2 fair quality and 2 poor qual embryos). Sorry if TMI... but if anyone has any thoughts or advice on any of it, especially cyclogest side effects vs OHSS, and embryo transfer, they'd be much appreciated :) thanks x

Hi I have endo too but I haven't experienced much discomfort from either of my collections. However, i had 13 follicles and 7 eggs. With your number of eggs and follicles it's more likely to be your ovaries. I would just check with your clinic as they will know what's best. They can freeze if they're worried about ohss. Best of luck for tomorrow.

Hi, you were right! Abdominal scan showed a lot of fluid in my pelvis... OHSS :( so no embryo transfer today, been sent home to rest and recover. We have 1 blastocyst being frozen and 1 hopeful, plus 2 maybes being kept on to day 6. It's a real rollercoaster. Am shattered & emotional!

I'm sorry to hear that. It really is a rollercoaster isn't it. It must be disappointing to not get your anticipated transfer but you have a good number of embryos (even if just the one makes it that's all you need) and delaying is not only best for your health but will also improve your chances. I hope your ohss settles soon x
