Laparoscopy, bleeding and cycle

Hi all

I had a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and dye test a few days ago and had endometriosis, cysts and fibroids removed. Surgeon thinks it cleared a blockage so said to try a couple of more cycles TTCing naturally before we go down IVF route.

I know bleeding is to be expected after the lap but I had none for the first couple of days and it's started now. Period is due in about 5 days and I've seen it mentioned on here that the lap can mess up cycles so I'm trying to figure out if this is post-op bleeding or period. Will do lots of ovulation testing to make sure I don't accidently miss it but just interested in other people's experiences and whether a lap impacted the timing of period or ovulation?

Thanks

I had my laparoscopy when my period was just finishing. My usual post period spotting continued for a few days longer than usual and I gad my LH surge a few days later than usual too. So nothing wildly different. I think it varies though. Have a look at the endometriosis uk's support group on Health Unlocked, lots of knowledgable endo ladies over there. X

@Veenah how are you getting on. I had mine on Thursday.. bled for a short while after and now nothing at all. Period isn't due until next week. How's your pain? I feel like I'm completely bruised everywhere x

Hi Mich2020, I'm ok. It's been just over a week and I didn't have bleeding at all for first few days and then had pretty heavy bleeding for 3 days or so which has now stopped so it may have been an early period, it's hard to know! I'm feeling quite well, haven't needed painkillers in a couple of days. Feel almost back to normal but a bit tired and a bit tender around the incisions. Hope your recovery goes well.
