Starting investigations/contacting GP at the moment

I'm 37, almost 38, and I've been TTC for over 18 months. I've been tracking ovulation and despite trying temping and different OPKs I'm not getting confirmed ovulation. My cycle is otherwise normal and pretty regular.

I really want to start investigations as I'm wondering whether Clomid would be a good idea, but I can only contact my GP via AskMyGP at the moment. Has anyone else kicked things off in this way? I'm nervous about going to the GP at the best of times, I'd hate to be a timewaster and I'll wait if that's for the best but I'm very conscious that time isn't on my side. I'm in a relatively low-infection area for Covid, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

I'd book sooner rather than later - I found the NHS to be quite slow with fertility investigations but I know it varies from area to area

At this stage there could well be a subfertility issue with you, he or equally both of you. You would NOT be a timewaster if you were to make contact with the GP now, you need a referral to a subfertility unit in a hospital. The GP may well decide to refer you straight away. You need a diagnosis first and foremost rather than any one specific drug regimen.

Thanks both! I used the AskMyGP thing yesterday and I'm getting a call from a doctor today, I'm glad I got in touch!
