Recommendations for IVF Clinics in the Northwest

Hello,

I was wondering if you could help.

I'm 40 (my partner is 46) and unfortunately because he has children from a previous relationship I am not entitled to free IVF with the NHS.

I've looked at CARE (in Chester) which seems to have good reviews.

This is a big financial commitment and I want to make the right decision.

Has anyone used any clinics anywhere in the northwest they could recommend? Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks : )

I'm with Care Chester and they've been great with me so far. When I started they hurried things up a bit so I could start with the current cycle instead of waiting another month which I was really happy about. It wasn't rushed and they explaining everything properly but they made sure things got moving quickly to avoid a month delay. There's another thread you might want to have a look at ivi Chester. Good luck with everything!

I’ve been with the Hewitt centre. Didn’t rate them, mainly over communication issues and having to constantly chase them for updates. Not to mention the length of time it takes for them to answer the phone.

I’m looking elsewhere now and I am leaning towards care too!

Just place marking. On waiting list to go private at hewitt but seems to be a long wait just for an appointment. So considering care as well. Heard positives so far of both. Unfortunately no success results on HFEA for care which is annoying x

I think there is a Create in Manchester - (I'm with Create Birmingham) and really like them - they also tend to have MUCH shorter waiting lists as they only do short protocol mild or natural modified IVF so you can cycle much quicker. I know people who have rung this week and are already booked in to start as soon as they get their period

I'm currently with Create Wilmslow, started cycle before lockdown and got me to egg collection, staff are very friendly and feel really comfortable their, only complaint is appointments are never on time!

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your comments, really useful. I'll look at Create as another option.
Hewitt doesn't sound good, I'll avoid them, thanks for mentioning ones that haven't been great too.

Thanks again!

I've heard recent reports that Care Chester are very poor at communication including regarding medication when one finally manages to get hold of them.

Good luck with your choice, so many factors including convenience to fit into your schedule.
