Progesterone levels day of transfer

Hi all

Currently doing my final FET

I have my progesterone levels checked yesterday afternoon just after my frozen transfer.

They have come back at 27.9...
Is that low? Im still in with a chance right?

Hubby is now off to the pharmacist to get Lubion injections. Praying this helps

Yeah it is low - my clinic likes to see over 45 - this is the first time I had it checked even though it was my 4th transfer and it was 145! And that was the highest the clinic had had apparently- I'm now 10 weeks with twins and I think such high levels definitely supported both implanting

Are they not giving you any progesterone injections or suppository?

Bearsmum15 · 31/07/2020 15:24

The consultant says they like it to be around 30 so im really confused.

I also asked on FB and a one said as low as 20...

He has given me Lubion injections and im already on cyclogest. I just worry im starting the injections too late.

It's an annoying when every clinic has a different cut off! Did you start cyclogest after ovulation and how Many per day x

Bearsmum15 · 31/07/2020 17:13

Ive been on cyclogest since Saturday (which would be ovulation) 400mg.

Im only 1dp5dt (transfer was at 2pm)

Here was my consultants reply

"I just received progesterone blood level & it is 27.9

As I explained to you yesterday; few research papers showed that progesterone level of equal to or more than 30 is in favour of embryo implantation. Nevertheless; more research is still required and this is the reason that I am undertaking research in CRM to assess progesterone level & to look at success of FET

Based on this you may start the use of Lubion injection as 25mg/ subcutaneous injection/ once daily till end of the 3rd month of the pregnancy"

Great that he's doing research but doesn't help you if you end up as a statistic! 🤦‍♀️

I was on 2x 400 cyclogest per day for transfers last year which failed so they upped mine to 3x per day for this transfer

Hopefully now you are on lubion that should bring your numbers up 🤞😂

Bearsmum15 · 31/07/2020 18:04

@ivfdreaming i know... originally the plan was to test my level and not do anything with it then see if i got pregnant.
I wasnt happy with that as i think this is why my previous FET failed, hence why i asked for the test in the first place

I hate it when i research stuff and never see the final outcome...

I got my BFP this morning.. quite promising lines considering it was my 3rd wee!

@Bearsmum15

Ooh congratulations!!! How many days post transfer are you!?

And good on you for coming back with an update! I HATE it when you never find out what happened x

Bearsmum15 · 08/08/2020 16:54

Thank you

I'm 9dp5dt test day is Monday

Yeah, i do too! Ive been constantly on google for 9 days and the amount of people that dont tell the outcome is loads!

Congratulations @Bearsmum15!

Did they test you again and see if your progesterone levels were high enough? I had mines tested on the day of transfer (last week Monday) and it was 30.5, my clinic like the levels to be above 100. I was on cyclogest and Lubion once a day they upped it to two cyclogest and two Lubion per day.

I have to go back for another blood on Monday. Just wondered if you had another blood test and if they told you the new levels?

Bearsmum15 · 08/08/2020 18:25

No, they havent, they told me they would retest once i had a BFP. I will speak to them on Monday.

30.5 is fine. My consultant said anything over 30 is ideal for implantation.
A level of 100 is very excessive.

Good luck x

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me. I had a FET yesterday and am taking Cyclogest 3x a day. However I am worried that I have not had a blood test and have been told I don’t need one. How do the clinic know my progesterone levels are high enough?

brighton2272744 · 25/07/2025 23:09

is that 30 in nmol?

TSHconfusion · 26/07/2025 14:11

@CyanPanda can I ask how you got on with this transfer if you don’t mind? I have had failed transfers now with 3 Cyclogest per day but my clinic won’t test my progesterone as they are saying there’s no way it would be low on this amount but I just don’t under why injections would even be a thing if that were true! I am really trying to push for them to do the blood test
