Constantly worrying if FET has worked!

Hi all. Sorry to bore you with this thread that has probably been written many times, and I know I’m so silly to even be saying this right now. But hear me out.

So this is my second round of IVF, first frozen transfer. Our first round of IVF was fresh, and ended in chemical pregnancy. I remember having transfer and after only a few days I felt some symptoms, feeling sick and just different mainly. I remember on a Friday morning heading to work and I felt “normal” again and I thought oh I feel loads better today, that night I started to bleed and the blood tests confirmed it was chemical.

So I always think back and assume that sickly feeling was one of the pregnancy symptoms?

Anyway, I had frozen transfer on Friday and apart from feeling tired from the hormones I’ve been inserting, I literally feel nothing. I don’t feel any different, obviously the TWW is something we all dread, but now I’m even worrying about the fact I just don’t feel different? My boobs are a little tender and I’ve got the odd pain in my ovary area, but that’s normal for me and was experiencing that before I even had transfer.

I know that no pregnancy is the same but I assume my body would have “reacted” the same if I was pregnant?

Has anyone had completely different symptoms with each transfer? And if you didn’t feel anything was your transfer successful?

I know I just need to be patient and wait until I can have the blood test but for me the waiting is one of the hardest things!

Thanks for reading xx

Hi, so I’ve had 3 transfers with 3 different outcomes.

Fresh transfer- no symptoms- ectopic pregnancy
FET 1- no symptoms- BFP
FET2- no symptoms- BFN

Unfortunately there’s no rhyme or reason to it and symptoms or lack of, can’t tell you whether the cycle has worked. With the BFP I didn’t actually get any pregnancy symptoms until 8 weeks pregnant. Despite all of what I said, I drove myself nuts on every 2WW and I’m sure I will do on the next one too. Hope it’s a good outcome for you 🤞🤞

FET1 - floaty feeling, was sick once - BFN
FET2 - no symptoms - BFP but ended in ruptured ectopic
FET3 - no symptoms -BFN
FET4 - no symptoms - BFP - TWINS!!! 🤣

Thanks @Lemongrass1 and @ivfdreaming.

Wow to both! Such rollercoasters! Although not all outcomes have been great, your comments have given me a bit of hope and after reading them I’m hoping I can start to be a bit more positive until test date (if we make it that far)

Thank you. @Lemongrass1 I really hope your next cycle turns out to be the one xx

@ivfdreaming - belated congratulations to you on your twins haha! I bet that’s been such a crazy time for you. Love the success stories I could read them all day! Xx

Hi @Dot457 my experience with IVF is to not trust any symptoms as your mind is very much capable of playing games. Only trust blood test and scans. I have below experience
FET1 - lots of symptom BFN
FET2 - No symptom BFN
FET3 - lots of symptom BFP but ended up as an early miscarriage in 7th week.

Please dont stress and try to take your mind off symptom if possible.. good luck 😊

@duckhouse - Thanks for your reply. It's very interesting to read, I'm doing my best to keep busy so I don't constantly think about it. And thank you! Sending lots of luck to you for your next go xxx

Hi @Dot467. I was so pleased to see your question as I'm in the same position and starting to worry. My FET was on Thursday so only a day earlier than yours.

I had a fresh IVF cycle in January and got a BFP. By this stage of the TWW though, I had so many symptoms. Like you, all my symptoms stopped and then a pregnancy test (5 days after my BFP) confirmed I was no longer pregnant. So I put the symptoms down to pregnancy.

This time, I feel nothing! It's worrying me because I'm on even more drugs second time around (cyclogest x 2 daily, lubion injection and HRT tablets x 3 daily) so I'd expect to have even more side effects/symptoms. I have been wondering if it's to do with suppressing ovulation for a FET! Anyway, this thread has been reassuring.

When is your test day? Mine is Monday.

EmG55 · 29/07/2020 17:02

@Dot457 - sorry, I typoed your handle!

Dot457 · 29/07/2020 17:51

Hey @EmG55 - I'm so glad I'm not alone! Sorry to hear you also had the same experience. It's definitely good to hear everyone else's experiences, I can only hope the fact we've had no symptoms is a good thing?

Omg mine is also on Monday the 3rd! I feel like I just need to make it to at least Saturday morning then I can relax a little bit? I'm not going to do a home test first just because of what happened last time! So I'm definitely going to wait for the blood test.

Keeping everything crossed for you! xxx

How funny it's the same day! I have to test at home - dreading Monday but I keep reminding myself that I have at least experienced a positive pregnancy test so there is hope. I take that as a mini win in this horrible journey.

It's also incredibly reassuring to know that there are others out there having the same experience - it just never seems to be anyone you know! Keeping my fingers crossed for you too. I'd love to hear how you get on.

By the way, I Googled 'FET with no symptoms BFP' and quite a lot of positive stories and threads came up.

Only 3 and half more days - we can do it! :) x

Dot457 · 30/07/2020 12:55

@EmG55 Omg please let me know the outcome, I will probably find out later on with having the blood test. Sending so much luck to you!

Thanks for the tip! I've just been reading stories now based on that search and I feel a lot more reassured now so thats great! Thanks so much xx

@Dot457 Just wanted to say good luck for tomorrow. I hope you haven't felt too stressed out this weekend - I've been trying hard to keep myself busy! I truly hope you get BFP x

Dot457 · 03/08/2020 12:56

@EmG55 - Thanks so much. Good luck to you too! I hope you got the result you were hoping for? I had my blood taken about 9ish this morning so hoping I'll hear something sooner rather than later but I know it doesnt always work that way! Really hope it's a BFP for you xx

@Dot457 I got a BFP on my home test this morning - still in shock! Turns out there really is no rhythm or reason behind symptoms or lack of! I hope they don't keep you waiting much longer. Keeping everything crossed x

Dot457 · 03/08/2020 14:12

@EmG55 - OMG that is incredible! Soooooooo pleased for you. Please enjoy this moment! Sending a huge virtual squeeze!!! What a relief. Thank you, I am still waiting but will share he outcome with you xxx

@Dot457 I’m so so sorry to hear that! My heart truly goes out to you. I know the next few days will feel incredibly difficult but one thing people struggling with fertility are good at... picking ourselves up and getting ready for the next part of the journey! Whilst mine was positive, sadly I’ve been here before and no one knows what each day will bring. We just all have to keep hoping and one day I’m sure we’ll both have our dreams come true. Sending you a big hug xx
