NHS & BMI

We had a freeze all in March and have my treatment planning on Wednesday for a FET. A combination of the two cycles earlier in the year and lockdown with no gym and enjoying food a bit more I've put on 10lb since the clinic last weighed me and my BMI is just over 30 now.

Have people going to NHS clinics been re-weighed and how strict are they likely to be with this as we were part treatment anyway?

Thanks x

Hi, similar situation to you but I had a fresh transfer in feb. Due for FET next month.
My clinic haven't weighed me again and I know I've put on easily half a stone and maybe more, from previous cycle/lockdown laziness. I've begun down regulation so I assume they'd have weighed me by now if they were going to. I'm not even aware of my bmi at the moment now you mention it.
Obviously every clinic is different, but if you feel nervous about it maybe try and lose a bit while you prepare? You probably will do that anyway so apologies if that offends.

Good luck with your transfer Smile

Thanks @Pinkstars2501

I have treatment planning Wed and hoping to start next week so not really much time. I try not to put too much pressure on myself about weight etc. but just been trying to eat healthy. My metabolism is awful so really struggle to lose weight!! I'm just hoping that they Don't or there is some leniency x

I really wouldn't worry about it. Just go and see what they say. If they bring it up, then what will be will be and if they don't then great.

I had a fresh cycle in February which sadly ended in a missed miscarriage. Iv booked in for fet and have appt on Fri 31st to get prostap injection but am also worrying about weight. My bmi is over 30 at the moment, think I'm about 8lbs over what I need to be and am now panicking they won't start treatment x

I am just starting my FET cycle this week and they haven’t even asked what my weight/ BMI is so hopefully it won’t be a factor for you. I think a lot of people (myself included) have indulged/ lacked exercise over the lockdown so it’s probably expected to some degree x

jodesxx · 29/07/2020 18:43

@Anniebaby73 all went well and they didn't weigh me thankfully. I was literally 0.5kg over when I weighed this morning so been stressing all day. Start my frozen cycle next Friday xx

@jodesxx oh brilliant. All that stress for nothing. My bmi is literally 30.7 today so am hoping it's a bit lower on Fri but tryin not to worry too much. Good luck with ur cycle 🤞🤞 xx
