Norethisterone

Hi

I'm due to start norethisterone for IVF on August 2nd, which will be CD21 - does this seem correct? My usual cycle is 31 days.

I then start my menopur injections on the 14th August.

I know side effects differ, but how did you get on?
How long after finishing did you bleed?

I started norethisterone at about the same point in my cycle. I think I took it for around 3 weeks but it was more to fit in with the clinics schedule. You’ll have a baseline scan when you start injections so they’ll check then that it’s done it’s job properly. It took 3 days for af to arrive after I stopped. I don’t recall any side effects. I took norethisterone end of Dec/beginning of Jan for IVF. I don’t remember any side effects. I took two tablets a day for 10days and AF arrived 6days after stopping the tablets.

I’m currently on day 3 of norethisterone for a FET (cycle in Jan was a freeze all due to OHSS). This time round I have really bad cramps and am in an awful mood! I’m sure it’s the norethisterone causing it but it’s weird because last time I was completely fine on them!
