Utrogestan Vaginal Capsuals - TMI below...

Hello.

Maybe it's not TMI, but most of us have been in this situation so here goes. I'm preparing for Frozen Transfer on Friday and have been doing the vaginal capsuals 3 times a day. How far in do you go with the applicators? I try to go as far as I can until it's a bit uncomfortable. And then I 'pop' it in.

It says insert high into the Vagina, but how high is, high? I think the reason I'm a little paranoid is because this is not our first round of IVF, so I've been here before and I worry last time I maybe didnt insert them high enough? We were pregnant at the very beginning then literally started bleeding the same day... sods law! (I was on different ones last time and the capsuals were much bigger so was more uncomfortable for me)

Hope that all makes sense.

Many thanks in advance!

@Dot457 I didn’t have an applicator so had to use my fingers. Obviously washed my hands thoroughly before and after. I just pushed it right up to my cervix. I’m not sure it needs to be that high, just enough to stay in so it can be absorbed. Try to lie down or sit still for 30mins after and you should be good. Good luck!

Thank you @Betsyboo87 - omg can’t believe you didn’t have an applicator? I’m not sure I’d have been able to do it without that extra help. My fingers are tiny 😂 please can I ask what the outcome was for you after transfer etc x

@Dot457 mine just didn’t come with one and it wasn’t until later that I read about people using applicators. I never questioned it! I got used to it pretty quickly.

We were super lucky and DS is now 3 weeks old!

This is a video from CARE fertility. (It’s useful and the nurse shows you how to insert but without anything graphic!!!! She just uses her hand)

Basically you pop put the applicator is as far as it will go and the press the end.

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip - Thank you so much! What an idiot I am - didn't even think to check that kind of thing. Pretty sure it comes with a leaflet so say to watch a video on it. Silly me.

Thank you again! xx
