Has anyone been seen for their treatments post lockdown yet (nhs)? If so, what area are you from please?
Awaiting IUI since April then IVF if unsuccessful. Still none the wiser we to when I should be seen, as they obviously have loads of other patients to see too.

Hi
I was referred from gyne to fertility clinic following all investigations into infertility on 4th June and had my first appointment with the fertility clinic today and got the go ahead to start first round of IUI at the end of this month. Think I've been really lucky on getting seen so quickly despite COVID delays. Have you called then again to see how long the delay will be?

KellyAnne9 · 15/07/2020 18:55

@RoloM610 That's good! They're obviously getting back on track. Wish you the best of luck for when you start! Yes, definitely lucky. Hopefully your luck will continue Xx

We were meant to start IUI end of last year, but just seems one thing after another preventing it. We had to have further tests, one which took 3 months to come back. Then finally when it seemed good to go ahead in April, then cancelled due to COVID.
I have tried calling. Latest call today, but still saying they're working through lists as soon as they can and we will hear.
We have to have the bloods and swabs etc. Done again before we start as they only last 3 months, so that's what's in the way before we're given the go ahead again!

Do you mind me asking where you live? Wales, England etc. ?

Aww no you've had a long wait... must be so frustrating not knowing how long you have to wait
I'm in England- East Midlands
Hope it all goes well for you! Good Luck

I'm Worcestershire, had all the tests in jan appointment for June was cancelled. I did have a call from my fertility nurse yesterday to prescribe clomid, but been told not allowed to take it until the monitoring clinics are back up and running.

Fingers crossed things are slowly getting back together

I'm from Cardiff, we had been trying for a baby for years and were unsuccessful, I spoke to my GP about it years ago and asked that we be put forward for IVF. I was on the waiting list for around 1.5 years for a laparoscopy, which I had in Feb 2020 and was told that both my tubes are blocked, also they found out that i have mild endometriosis. After the op, I was told that IVF is my next option and that we can discuss further at the follow up appointment but it was cancelled due to covid. I have been calling the hospital on and off for the past few months, they usually brush me off saying that I will have a letter sent out to me within the next 2 weeks. That never happened. I called again last Friday and was told that It would probably be a year before they give me just a follow up appointment, no mention of an appointment for IVF. When I share my concerns that I am due to turn 40 this November and that I am concerned there is an age limit, cut off point for receiving IVF via NHS, they say, we don't have the answer for that. I am completely at my wits end, if I have to wait another year and they tell me I'm too old for IVF, I have no idea where to go from here.

We're South Wales too.
The waiting time for everything is so horrible. Just seems like you're constantly in the unknown waiting for something every single day.
1.5 yrs for laparoscopy?! Can't believe how long the wait for some investigations are! It's a long time since the beginning of our infertility journey too. Just feels like all that time has consumed us with constant medical appointments (up until covid purl a stop to it!).
Sincerely hope you will have your appointment sooner than you're expecting and being told. I'm really surprised they're not prioritising you if there's a concern with your age and NHS funding, knowing your circumstances and needing ivf.
I also have been calling a few times these last few months and they kept telling me the same thing - that they're unsure and contacting patients as soon as possible.
I suppose all you can do is keep calling every now and then in the hope that an appointment will become available. Not sure how it's all working at the moment, but all you can do is call and ask.
Wish you lots of luck and just pop on here if you ever need a rant/chat because I know it's hard xx

@KellyAnne9 I'm sorry that you and so many of us are being affected by this. Thank you for your support, means alot. It's all very disheartening and at times, hard to be positive but it has to be done. Yes they told me, the first time I called them, that they would prioritise according to age but it was just a brush off.
When I called on Friday, they did the same again, i was annoyed and told them they keep saying that i'll receive a letter but it's been months and nothing, they put me through to someone that was managing the fertility patient list and he said there are 181 patients ahead of me. 3 patients a week are being seen to online. so at that rate, it could very well be a year before im seen to. Who knows if things will change and they could possibly see more patients in a week as time goes on. Wishing you and everyone else here the very best of luck.
