Sorry apologies this has probably been asked but how much dosage are you taking daily?

I’m taking 100mg and my partner takes 100mg but I realise this is probably not enough. The thing is it’s so expensive!

Hi @Mctm123 I take 200mg a day, it's about £20 for 30 from amazon. Have you read it starts with the egg? That recommends a much higher doseage, ongst other things!

Mctm123 · 13/07/2020 10:52

Thanks for your reply @VenusStarr I haven’t read the book personally but I’ve took advice from it mainly from this forum!

Which brand are you using? As I’m paying a bit more than that. I’ll definitely up the dosage! Thanks x

I was taking 300mg - to be honest it made zero difference to my egg quality so not sure if recommenced spending loads more money on really high doses

WhatKatyDidNxt · 13/07/2020 11:42

My understanding was 200-300mg each day?

NewSew00 · 13/07/2020 12:18

Normal dose (as per instructions on most packets) is 200mg / 300 mg per day, but It Starts With The Egg recommends 400mg, and the Lister and Evewell both recommend 600mg per day. I'd prob only bother with the larger dosages if you are 35 plus and/or have a low AMH though.

VenusStarr · 13/07/2020 14:06

These are the ones I take @Mctm123 I've no idea if egg quality is an issue for me, we're starting ivf soon, but I've had 3 miscarriages - started these after my first one.

The brand is health through nutrition x

@Mctm123Mctm123 I take 200mg a day.

I read It Starts With the Egg and take the I take Jarrow Formula which is what the It Starts With the Egg website recommends. I'm 35 so figured it might help. We have MFI though, so we should probably get my partner on it as well but he is hesitant to because its so spendy (although not as spendy as IVF is going to be). I've been thinking about us each taking 100mg a day to hedge our bets... but I also think I could spend loads on supplements and it'll still not work. Confused

PositivelyPrecious · 13/07/2020 15:28

I took 200mg of ubiquinol for a year prior to my ivf cycle on advice in it starts with an egg. My cycle was pure crap and didn’t get any embryos so for me it made zero difference to egg quality.

I got a nutritionist and she said to stop it without even hearing how long I’d taken it. She said if you’re stressed it can amp up your adrenaline even more and have a negative impact. So I wouldn’t just assume you need to take it or the max dose of that it will help so consider all that if it’s expensive for you.

Mctm123 · 13/07/2020 15:49

Thanks for all the responses it’s definitely a mix view on it all isn’t it! I think I’ll just take 200mg a day for now an hope for the best. The plan is to try naturally probably for another 6 months an then start a new cycle we think. Although after 3 miscarriages following our last Ivf I’m clutching at straws hoping for a better outcome next time.

We do have a lovely naturally conceived little boy though xx

@VenusStarr hey hun. Sorry I know this is an old post I do hope u reply. Just wanted to know how those ubiquinol worked out for u. I want to try them now since sadly having 2 mc.

VenusStarr · 01/04/2021 18:56

Hi @IloveGod2 I'm sorry for your losses. I don't have a totally positive update. I did conceive in August but I had another loss, but my baby was tested as chromosomally normal, so I'm taking that as a positive. We've done some further tests and my immune system is the cause of our losses, but I'm continuing with the ubiquinol as I'm 37 now.

Best wishes x

IloveGod2 · 01/04/2021 21:35

@VenusStarr hey hun I appreciate the response. I hope all goes well for you. I've ordered doctors choice and from what people say I will start with 200 and see how it goes. It's hard when I dont no what's causing it 🙏
