Hi there,

My name is Lisa, I'm 34 and my husband is 39. We are due to begin our first round of IVF after 2 Miscarriage's and subsequent 16months infertility. Just found out today that my AMH is low 4.4 and my husband's sperm is fairly non existent 0.2 Million! Trying to stay positive and hopeful, but also feeling very alone. As it is our first round of IVF and what feels like a shocking hit of bad news, just looking for advice on IVF in general and maybe a buddy with similar numbers. Thanks, L

Hi,

Our situations are different but share similarities. I'm 31 and husband is 32. We've had 1 failed round of IVF with icsi so far. Originally investigated for fertility issues due to male factor, husband has frozen sperm (very low quality) frozen from pre chemo in his 20's and currently is azoospermia as a result. Once the ball was rolling discovered that my AMH is low at 6 (over a year ago). Our round resulted in 10 eggs which was fab, but only 8 mature, 6 fertilised and only 2 made it to blast. Neither good enough quality to freeze so one was put back but was a BFN.
After some imput from a nutritionist to try to improve my egg quality, lots of supplements and treating some of my blood levels that where borderline last time we are about to start our second round of IVF with icsi. Our consultant hasn't painted a very positive picture, but we are working with what we have :)
