Mild ivf drugs cost

We've just had delivery of our meds from abc for mild ivf, but we can't go ahead with treatment. There's no way of returning them etc and I'm worried by the time we get started that we'll be entitled to NHS treatment. We've paid for our cycle in full already and I'm aware there's a £500 quid admin fee for cancellation and i guess they will also take the drug costs from us too. I know it depends on protocol etc but I just wondered if anyone has a rough estimate what the drugs cost?

I did mild IVF with ABCs sister clinic Create - id say the drugs cost in the region £700-£1000 but should be on your invoice?

I'm guessing you've paid upfront for everything? - they wouldn't have delivered the drugs otherwise? You don't get the cost of the drugs refunded as because they have been proscribed specifically to you they cant then legally be returned and given to someone else - they need to be destroyed. It's frustrating but that's why I've always made sure the clinic didn't over order on any cycles and I just paid for extras as I needed them

Is there a reason why you can't continue with treatment at all rather than just delay it? They normally last a good year in the fridge?

Just looked at the quote from Create for my 3 cycles of natural Modified based on 150ml Bemfola and that came £1,600 and I already had some in the fridge from last year so yeah I'd say about £750 is the value you have

Ok thanks both. I've just noticed on their website that they keep £500 if medication has been dispensed so I guess that applies to us. It is what it is and hopefully we can still use it in time. We just need a quick turn around to enable us to do that. Slightly disappointed that professionals in the clinic weren't talking to each other before agreeing to send them out as it could have been completely avoided but never mind. I did push on them as my period arrived earlier than expected and day 1 was of my cycle was the day of our appointment with the consultant. At this point they'd already been sent out. Thanks for your replies xx

Sorry i should have added, I have a cyst on my ovary. We paid privately for an MRI scan but the consultant still isn't happy to go ahead as the MRI didn't confirm what type of cyst it is. He wants a specialist, I'm guessing gynaecologist, to say what's needed next, possibly a laparoscopy and biopsy of the cyst. In January, we will be awarded our NHS funding so if we have to wait a while for things, we might end up not using abc x
