I had my daughter 8 yrs ago, would really like another. We've been ttc for 6 years but have another partner who had difficulty conceiving with his ex - had a failed ivf round. Unexplained was his reason.

I took 17 m to fall with my lo. I had Hi cosy which showed 1 block tube

Never thought about it until recently
Was always if it happens it happens but lately I really want to fall pregnant

I'm also 38 so time isn't on my side

I take it because we've both had help before I can't get any nhs help with my partner ? Thanks for reading xx

Anyone know if there is help with secondary infertility?

Hello.

I don’t have a definitive answer but my impression is if one of you has a child from a previous relationship, you don’t get any help. But saying that, every NHS trust has different rules/criteria around it so it’s worth asking your GP.

Hey @strawberrysummer19,
I'm also ttc number 2.
IVF is definitely out on NHS if you have previous children. However, you can certainly get tests on the NHS this time around - so blood tests for you to check hormones etc...and semen analysis for your partner.
After that I think it depends on your CCG. I am able to get ovulation induction treatment on the NHS where we live - which includes provera to induce a cycle, letrozole to help me ovulate and monitoring of my cycle via ultra sound to check my reaction to the medication.
I would suggest making an appt with you GP to check what the rules are in your area and to organise. I would explain that you've been trying for a long time and they should make a referral there and then. If you are 35+ the rules are that if you have been trying for longer than 6 months then you should be referred.
Hope that helps and good luck!

Thank you, I will certainly make an app and at least the bloods and checks etc

Good luck ttc for your second
Fingers crossed for us xx
