Hello all

Looking for some advice/ a ear to listen please.
I have had 4 mc (not consecutive, 1 dd in the middle) and now pregnant again.

My fert specialist has prescribed 20mg predisilone to try this time. Here is a list of meds I am taking (all bar the prednis i have taken in previous mc)
Cylogest pessaries400mg
Clexane 40mg
High dose folic acid
Thyroxine (underactive thyroid but long under control)
Metformin 1500mg (PCOS)

I fall preg very easily but I struggle to stay pregnant. Im looking for some success stories please? Everyday feels like a month as im sure anyone in my boat will know!! I really want this one to stick.

Thanks in advance!

I had two MMC after IVF. I'm now 34 weeks pregnant, never thought I'd get here. I took most of the cocktail you're on, except thyroxine. I also had progynova (because of IVF) and a high dose of vitamin D - I'm deficient in it apparently, as are most people in the UK, and it has been linked to miscarriages.

I also had infusions of intralipids - my IVF clinic is a big believer in them, and the theories of natural killer cells.

Immune/NK Issues - aka Pred Thread no 25! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/miscarriage/3914106-Immune-NK-Issues-aka-Pred-Thread-no-25

I was on a couple of the earlier pred threads - I found them really helpful.

Good luck!

@ginandtonicformeplease thank you SO much for the reply. I know how you feel about never getting there. I know I have 1 dd and Im very lucky but it was such a struggle to have her, 2 mc before and now 2 mc after.
I forgot to mention about the Vit D also - can I ask. what dose you were on?
And thank you for the other threads I will most definitely read up, its the only think keeping me sane!!

To start with they put me on 5000iu as I was so deficient. When I got towards normal levels, that went down to 2000iu a day, which I'm still taking.

All my bloods were done through the IVF clinic - I don't know if GPs will run a vitamin D test but it might be worth asking.

Thank you @ginandtonicformeplease I am just about to head to docs to get thyroid bloods done and will ask about the Vit D.

Were you ever tested for NK cells? I haven't been, only been prescribed the prednis as a caution, as they cant work out what my issue is (if any).

Yes I was tested for NK cells, they were found to be elevated. They treated them with the pred and intralipids.

Hi

I'm interested in this too. I thought hfea advised against using steroids or intralipids at the moment because of covid.

I took predisilone for the transfer that got me my daughter. I was hoping to do another transfer in August and am worried about whether i can take it again.

I had elevated killer blood cells when i tested.
