Last october we had our first fertility appointment & was told theres nothing wrong with us & would need ivf.
Ive had the usual blood tests done, a transvaginal pelvic scan & OH has had his SA. All came back clear.

She wanted to me lose weight before referring me for a hycosy (hsg), before lockdown i managed 1.5 stone but put on a stone, im really annoyed at myself & feel like a complete failure. Ive got 4 stone to lose.

My 2nd appointment has come through for next week which gives me a week & a half. Obviously i cant lose much in that time, maybe a few pounds, i know its nowhere near what the dr wanted me to lose.

I suppose i feel ashamed of myself & im dreading next week. Do i put it off a month & really try hard with the diet or bite the bullet & hope it gives me the kick up the arse i need to lose the weight.

I would still go the appointment but I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that weight has a significant bearing on fertility and why put yourself through IVF if the only thing "wrong" is that you need to lose the 4 stone? I've done 5 rounds of IVF and believe me it's not for the faint hearted

Also be aware if your BMI is over the NHS limit they will refuse to treat you until it's below the required threshold anyway
