Hi, this is my first ever post... I'm looking to hear any success stories from women over 40 with low AMH TTC (trying to conceive)? We've been trying naturally for 2 years, since I was 38 and, as it hasn't happened, we were offered IVF on the NHS, but they said I had 0.2% chance with IVF (AMH 0.7, FSH 13). So we decided to try CREATE because they specialise in low AMH. They offered us Natural Modified IVF; 3 low dose cycles designed for older women, the idea being they concentrate on getting one good egg. They said we have a 10% chance. We have both been taking Ubiquinol, PQQ, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Folic Acid, Maca, Glutathione, Proceive for me & Proxceed for him. Drinking green tea, vegetable smoothies, oily fish and nuts, no coffee or alcohol, cut out sugar and refined carbs.... you name it. Since adding all these supplements and making lifestyle changes my partner's sperm has improved from 10 million to 16 million with good motility, but still low morphology. My follicles have increased from 0 to 3 to 6 in the last 4 months (although I don't believe the first scan of 0 at the NHS counts, as he already decided by my age and AMH and, what's more, he didn't show me the screen; I don't think he even looked. The second 2 scans were done at CREATE and they showed me the follicles on the screen and measured them). We did our first round of Natural Modified IVF recently and we got one mature egg, which fertilised correctly but didn't make it passed day 1. We have 2 more cycles but I'm afraid we've left it too late.. Sad. If you have been in my situation and have since had success, I'd love to hear some positive stories and tips, or if you just want to share your experience positive or negative. Thank you and best of luck Smile

Hi OP, sorry to hear about your failed cycle. I haven't been in exactly your situation, as although I did do ivf at age 40, my AMH was 10.4 and FSH 5.4 and was given a 15-20% chance. We were lucky and were successful on our second cycle but your list of supplements looks really good - I used many of those things on that cycle. One thing you don't mention but I would definitely recommend is fertility acupuncture, and combine it with fertility yoga if you can. Also testosterone supplementation improved the quality and number of eggs collected that cycle for me.

Thank you so much for this info. I really want to try acupuncture as soon as they reopen after lockdown.
Is the testosterone you mentioned called DHEA by any chance?I’m very interested in that, but I’m a bit scared of it. However, if my consultant says it’s ok then I’ll go ahead. What brand worked for you?

@Heart4 I was prescribed testosterone gel by my consultant - it's much stronger than DHEA and you only use it for 3 weeks prior to the egg collection. DHEA takes about 3 months to build up in your system before it has any effect so if you're planning to cycle soon then maybe ask your consultant about the gel.

Just to update this thread in case anyone is in the same position I was in and searching for hope. Last week I had a baby girl at 42 years old, having been told, at 39, I couldn't have children with my own eggs. We did IVF and while waiting for my transfer I got pregnant naturally. Best of luck to anyone in the same situation.
x

How wonderful congratulations!! I was about to offer some advice. Miracles are possible and hopefully I’m about to get mine too after a horrible journey of loss. I hope your story gives hope to others. I know a lot of ladies on here who were at the end of the line and then have got pregnant unexpectedly
