Have i ovulated?

So,

About to start fertility treatment, i would say im pretty regular (42 day cycles, not your average 28 as i have PCOS).
Anyway, i can always tell when im ovulating, i get ovary ache and twinges plus i get EWCM (egg-white cervical mucus). Then normally in between ovulation and my period, my boobs get really sore.
Anyway, im not due to ovulate until next wkend but i noticed i was getting the twinges and EWCM (egg-white cervical mucus), admittedly the EWCM (egg-white cervical mucus) wasnt half as much as i normally get.
I decided to get a clearblue digital (the advanced one) did a test... negative (blank circle). As i removed the test from the applicator, i could see the line was just as dark as the control line.
Ive been testing since, and still negatives and the line is getting fainter and fainter. And today, my boobs are sore... again not half as much as they normally do, but with the amount of EWCM (egg-white cervical mucus) i lacked, im guessing its hormonal.

So, ive attached the 2 tests, the strongest and the faintest but im guessing its happened hasnt it?

I actually dont want to ovulate now as it means my cycle is at risk of being cancelled due to a trip in August confused

Could you look and tell me what you think?

Thanks :-)

Yes the one on the left is definitely your LH surge so ovulation happens 12-24 hours after that positive I think. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I have done loads of ovu strips and my LH surge never gets quite as dark as the control line but it did take a while to figure out what my normal was. Anyhow hope you can still do your treatment cycle as planned x

Thanks for replying. Its just weird as even the the inserted strip looks positive, the test was negative.

But yeah, i agree...😏

Clearblue digital strips aren't designed to be read the same way as the cheap test strips. If the holder is negative I'd trust that first

@ivfgottostaypositive i would normally but with the EWCM and twinges and now the sore boobs (a normal symptom for me after ovulation) im questioning it 🤔

It is possible to have periods without ovulating.

Opks are really of no use or benefit at all if PCOS is a factor, please don’t waste any more of you hard earned cash on such things. These kits measure LH and if this hormone level is elevated as it often is with PCOS the kit reads that excess level.

Blood tests would be far more accurate, particularly a day 2 as this would show you what your LH and FSH levels are like, these are often awry when PCOS is present and that affects ovulation.

It may well be that your body is trying and failing to ovulate, that often happens with PCOS as well. Cervical mucus is also a poor indicator when it comes to PCOS.

Thanks Attila

However, over the last 6-7 years ive come to know my body pretty well and spot the signs of ovulation and i get it bob on everytime... except this time! Grrr.

However, i do tend to agree with you that perhaps my body has tried to and failed, hence the decrease in my usual symptoms...

For what it's worth, I've used opk's (I needed them to be accurate asy treatment involved airplane travel at short notice when positive opk's). I chose digital tests because I was tired of squinting at lines and trying to decide if they were positive or not.

On my last trip I had positive digital opk but on the test strip the line was actually fairly light. But the test was proven right by an ultrasound. So yeah, I'd sooner trust the digital response than look at the actual lines.

I was due to ovulate this coming wkend. So i will start testing again tomorrow...

However, im 99% certain ive ovulated as my boobs are so sore and this only ever happens after ive ovulated.

Time will tell....

Hi,

For follow up purposes as i hate when i find a relevant question, but the poster doesnt tell what happens..

Despite the negative tests, i came on this morning so i did indeed ovulate. My body wasnt playing tricks on me after all
All systems go for FET
