DHs sperm count suddenly normal from being very low??

We have been trying to have a baby for 3 years following my DHs vasectomy reversal. He has had 3 previous tests which have all said he had a low speed count (normal is over 15 million and he had 4). He had a test last week and it showed 16.5 million! I’m so shocked. We have just signed to start ICSI in September.

He was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last month and has been dieting and taking medication to lower his blood sugar which has more than halved since. Would this have anything to do with it?

Really hope with this change maybe we will fall naturally before September, or maybe the test was wrong?

Anyone?

My DH had 2 tests a few months apart and the counts were the low end of normal. 1 year later we do ivf and it has doubled. He was taking supplements but it could also be down to natural variation (our consultant said it does vary). We will never know for sure. Hopefully the improved count will help you naturally.
