Post Miscarriage spotting

I had miscarriage at 5 weeks and will use ‘chemical’ as this is the common term. I had blood tests confirming hcg went down to 4 last week after painful weekend when it happened and had normal period right after the blood test results. It’s been now about 5 days since my period has finished and I have continuous spotting. Is this normal?

Sorry to hear about your loss Leala20. It's disappointing at any stage of a pregnancy. I haven't been through a chemical before but I do struggle to conceive with IVF so I can sympathise. I read that if you have excessive bleeding, feel light headed, notice any signs of infection (bad smell, bad pain or fever) you should call your doctor. If you haven't had bleeding since your period and now you're spotting it doesn't sound like a heavy amount of blood loss. I wonder if maybe hormones get out of balance and after a week of spotting it will stop. Best to go with your instincts but maybe keep an eye on it until it's been a week of light spotting or if it gets heavy, you have any other symptoms of ill health. Good luck
