2 very large follicles

Hi, wonder if anyone else has had this problem? I have just had to abandon my cycle as I had 2 follicles at 16mm and about 10 at 4mm. I am only on day 3 meds. Has anyone else had this situation and know why this might have happened? I asked the doctor and he didn't have any suggestions.

@Rd12 yes, it happened to me - I don't know why but to try and stop it happening again this time they have put me on the pill for 12 days so the follicles start off at more of an even size

@Rd12 I've taken the last pill today so hopefully will be starting the next cycle within the next week or so. Fingers crossed it works!

I always get one cycle that jumps ahead and it can then be tricky to get the others to grow and catch up. I had the same this cycle except it was only 1 follicle but because I'm doing natural modified IVF and not targeting high numbers of follicles we went ahead with collection

It is a risk and if this has been my first cycle I would have cancelled but this is my 5th and I have 4 embryos frozen from the previous 2 rounds. If the doctors think they can get you a couple more on the next round I'd go with their suggestion - If the same happens again id carry on to egg collection. If they are the 2 follicles your body says is the best and the rest are no good I'd listen to it x

@ivfgottostaypositive thanks for the insight. I did ask if they could be good quality ones. I thought if there is a guarantee I might have carried on. But he said no way to tell. I like your theory though, it makes sense. If it happens again I am just going to have to carry on. I hate the way it all keeps dragging on and things keep going wrong. Feels like we are doomed to failure! That said it could have been worse, only day 3.
