I have seen post on here before about this but can't seem to find them.
We been waiting to start IVF again so seen that my clinic has appiled to open we been trying for 3 years now. We were just about to start when covid hit and put a stop to it . So because clinic was on HEFA list thought i would ring and see what there plan was. When I rang they still need gohead from the Trust itself so nothing can happen till they say. So I asked is there anything we can try at home while we wait for it to start again they said will look at your file and ring you back. They rang me back and I am upset by what they have said. We always knew my partners Sperm was low he had 3 test through whole process and they never went into detail. Today they went into detail they basically said that we wouldn't be able to concive natrally as partnes Sperm morphology was 1% . Has anyone else been told this and managed naturally or IVF as this score seems so low . He is on powders that hospital asked him to go on to try and improve it. Is there anything else we need to try and improve it he very active and healthy and doesn't smoke. I am just asking if anyone had this before and knows more about it then i do. My partner is really upset said I should leave him as it all his fault. Sorry for long post just want to know other people storys for better idea of it. Thanks for reading.

@ktl1a thank you for your reply what a lovely message . I am hoping that it has improved from his last test if he does another one before IVF. They never really detailed the test till today and I just think it hit us. I have resured him that I only want him and no-one eles he better now then earlier on bless him. They said it was all love his count was 3million and that morphology was 1% then never really said anything eles. Fingers crossed it works for us all one day xxx

Sometimes it just gets too much doesn't it! The good news is that it won't matter if you are doing IVF, they will pick the best ones to use so as long as he doesn't have 0% then you will be fine. Take care :)

Hi, when you say count is 3 mill is it per ml or total count? Also motility is important, you must look at this? But it does seem the count is very low unfortunately. At this level you may require IVF/ ICSI. But you can always try natural supplements/lifestyle changes to improve and then see.

Hoping1 · 07/06/2020 16:38

Hi @jolly86 not sure they just said count was 3 million. We have change alot lifestyle wise over the 3 year. We on icsi plan when IVF can start up again so hopefully the powders he been on has boosted it ready for ivf to give us a better chance xxx

Hi @Hoping1, we had the same problem. In fact I think my husband's was a bit less than 1% morphology. We had been trying for a year with a few chemical pregnancies and our consultant said although she couldn't say for sure, his results were probably the cause. He tried 3 months of no alcohol and all the lifestyle stuff and nothing changed, so then we went for icsi and it worked first time. They only need a small amount of normal sperm to make the embryos. In the end we got 27 healthy embryos, so they obviously found enough!
Good luck with it all 🙂

We're on 1% morphology also and if you ask around you'll get some mixed responses.

Our doctor basically said morphology wasn't an issue. My partners count and motility were all above average so they said because of that the morphology issue wouldn't matter. In fact they have put us down as unexplained and are on the list for IVF (I asked about ICSI and we wouldn't get that as they don't see morphology as an issue

We've been ttc around 5 years and nothing. I've been pregnant 8 years ago (did not result in a child), had all the tests and my tubes checked etc and all okay my side so my personal opinion is that morphology does cause issues but can't argue with the professionals.

Good luck with everything. Get your partner on some vitamins. My partner has been taking for three months now and hasn't drank or smoked during this lockdown period either so I'm hoping that has helped his morphology our

My partner started taking proxeed plus in November last year. Concentration went up by 2 million and count by 30 million. It’s expensive but I would recommend

JandL2020 · 08/06/2020 21:55

Morphology went from 2 percent to 4 percent x

willithappen · 08/06/2020 21:57

We've never been recommended that before. Is it like a shake that they take?
I'm not sure my partner would take it but could be worth a shot.

We're on the waiting list, looking at a ten month wait

Hoping1 · 08/06/2020 22:36

Thanks @JandL2020 that gives me lots of hope that what hopital said that they found big improvement with it. @willithappen it more a shot you mix powder with little bit of water . partner said taste horrible so shots it then drinks something after it. It £40 for month but I willing to pay that if it works xxx

It does indeed smell and taste disgusting so mix the powder with concentrated orange juice. My partner found it fine with that. I hated making it cos of the smell. Hold your breathe 😂 I need to order some more!

Hoping1 · 08/06/2020 23:18

@JandL2020 I will have to tell him that might stop his twist about them ha xx
