Hi All,
I just thought I'd start a new thread to see if there is anyone out there that is starting a cycle of ICSI? I just started a week ago on the progynova tablets and should start injections (Gonal-F) this weekend after my blood test on Friday.
This is my first go at IVF so feeling lots of different emotions right now. Be great to find others who are going through a similar process or maybe you have already?

Hello, I had my first round last year which was unsuccessful. I am now starting a new round in the next few days. I will be having ICSI and am with a private clinic now after NHS round. I find it all incredibly stressful. How about yourself? I did find that when finally starting the injections I felt quite positive and hopeful. Then the 2WW was awful and I just knew it had failed. How is it going so far?

@Rd12 oh I’m sorry it didn’t work out last year but hopefully it will this time. Did you do ICSI last year too? I’m with a private clinic in Sydney, unfortunately we don’t get NHS here. At the moment I’m feeling really positive but it’s my first go so I’m just hopeful right now. I’m going to start acupuncture tomorrow I’ve heard great things about it and it helping the cycle. Good luck with starting the next cycle and try to stay positive Smile when will you start?

Yes I did ICSI last time aswell. I have just had my first injection today. My meds arrived one hour before my injection was due! Clinic have been rubbish and was lucky to get meds in time. I spent 9 months in Australia I would have loved to have stayed. Assume costs are similar to here? I have read a lot of good things about acupuncture too. Let me know how it goes. We had one good quality embryo last time but had to have transfer day 2. So hard to know exactly why it didn't work. Sometimes you just never do. How is it going so far? Have your scans been ok?

Yeah I think the costs are the same, we get a rebate through Medicare too so that lowers it, which is like our NHS but not as good. Oh that was touch and go about the meds, how did your first injection go? I presume you’ve done a few now? I was anxious about the first one but it’s not too bad is it. How you feeling about this cycle? I have my first scan on Wednesday so will be good to see how the meds are going. Acupuncture was good, I’m not sure I love the feeling but the relaxation time is quite nice to relax with no distractions. Hoping that this weeks acupuncture will feel better as I’ll be more used to it. Some parts hurt a little but it’s not that bad at all. I’d recommend based on what others have told me.

First few injections were ok. Different type to last time. Had to do them in my belly and I much prefer the leg. But it was all in my head it was no worse. Had my scan today and had 2 massive follicles and about 10 much smaller ones. Therefore I’ve had to abandon until next month. It’s really frustrating because I’m off work and the timing was perfect. Also you feel like it will never happen. But I can try again next month. They said I would only likely get 2 eggs in total so not worth it. Good luck with the scan for you, I’m sure yours will be fine. Please keep me updated I’d love to hear some good news!
