Hi everyone

Please can anyone help.

When do I give up? DH and I have lost 10 babies all before 9 weeks.

Bloods are all normal apart from a high ANA result.

I've tried aspirin, clexane injections, steroids, progesterone.

When should we give up? We don't have the money for private tests. We are both late twenties.

I'm at a loss and on the verge of giving up 😢

Oh poor you, that sounds so traumatic. Have you been under the care of an NHS specialist? Have you thought about researching private options for a consultant specialising in recurrent miscarriage? You are still young so there is still time but I can of course see how this is so traumatic Flowers

Sorry I don’t have any better advice but didn’t want to read and run

I feel for you. Ive had 4, including my son's twin, all following IVF.

I presume you are under the recurrent miscarriage clinic?
Have they mentioned NK cells to you? This is basically when your body attached foreign objects, it sees the pregnancy as a foreign object so attacks it ☹

There are 2 ways or tested, a blood test, which can be done privately, costs about £500 or where they test the lining of your uterus, which is also about £500.

If you are under the recurrent miscarriage team, they will only offer you a basic investigation and it is known that out of all investigations, only 50% of them, a problem is found.
I definitely wouldnt give up, but i do think you should consider some private tests before trying again.

Good luck xxx

Sorry just seen your comment re money. If that’s the case I’d just keep pressing the NHS for a specialist (but bear in mind the cost of having a child is going to far surpass a few private consultations / possible treatment)

this is basically when your body 'attacks' foreign objects*

blablabla25 so sorry to hear about your losses. We’ve had 4 before 12 weeks even though on heparin, progesterone etc.
I’ve been advised to try IVF with PGT-A (the generic testing of the embryo). Although our tests for generic issues are currently normal it may help to know the embryo the body selects is OK (we get pregnant really quickly so doctor thought maybe there’s a selection problem).
No idea if it’s going to work but we decided worth a try, at this point we’ll try anything. Maybe one to bring up see if the NHS could refer.
