FET - forgot to take progynova

Hello. I'm having a silly panic. I've been taking progynova (2 tablets am, 2 tablets pm) for 8 days now as should be doing a FET in 10 days ish. I've just counted my tablets and realised I've missed a dose (2 tablets) at some point. I don't think it was this evenings dose, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know if that will affect things? I'm so mad at myself!!

I would suggest phoning your clinic and explaining but did you start part way through a day and therefore maybe you have taken the correct doses? Sorry stupid question I know but I’ve seen it done.

seven201 · 31/05/2020 23:27

Thank you @LouiseTrees . No, I started in the morning so have definitely missed two tablets. I even have an app set up to remind me, but I don't always click it to say I've taken them. I have a memory like a sieve!

You will probably be fine but you could always ask for a progesterone blood test to see if your levels are ok?

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/06/2020 22:31

Call clinic. As still early on for fet Sure won’t make a difference And maybe just mean if lining isn’t thick enough that the fet will be a day or so later

seven201 · 01/06/2020 23:24

Thank you both. I was too chicken to call the clinic today! My worry was my body wanting to ovulate, but hopefully missing one dose will be ok. I've got a scan on Thursday (cd13 but I have long cycles) so will see how it goes then. I haven't started my progesterone yet, only on the progynova for now.

You normally take the pesseries once scanned or free days before
And date set for fet

Thank you @blondeshavemorefun

To be honest I doubt it will affect things.

The scan is mainly to check your endometrial thickness (although they will also look for follicles on your ovaries). If your endometrium isn’t thick enough all that’s likely to happen is they’re likely to ask you to continue on just the progynova for a bit longer before adding in the progesterone.

They can be a little bit flexible with transfer date for a medicated FET so I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

Thank you, that's reassuring!

Just in case this is useful to anyone having a panic in the future who finds this thread. My scan was fine, lining 8mm and only small follicles visible so all fine for transfer next week.

@seven201 Thats good news.. good luck for your transfer ! I am soon to start progonova for FET.. wondering if you had any symptoms so far ?

seven201 · 04/06/2020 23:23

@duckhouse thank you. I've been bloated, irritable and had a few days of headaches but mainly just the bloat (that could just be cake) left now. Good luck with your FET.

I just survived my husband doing my lentogest injection in the bum! He's scared of needles so it was a momentous event for him.
