24 DPO and BFN

We are due to start our first IVF cycle when AF arrives but I am now 24 DPO with no sign and still a BFN. Has anyone had anything similar with late/missing AF? What happens if I just don’t get my AF - do I have to just wait it out and see if I get one next month?

My cycles are irregular but the luteal phase has always been 10 days. According to the OPK I ovulated early on day 7 (not unusual for me) but even if that was a false positive I am now cycle day 31 which is longer than my cycles have ever been.

Starting to feel like the universe is trying to tell me something - last time I tried to start IVF the clinics shut down and this time I’m 2 weeks late! I’m 38 and have low AMH so now totally paranoid that maybe this is the start of menopause. I just want to start IVF now 😭

Any advice would be much appreciated before I lose my mind! x

Don't worry. Just tell the clinic. They sometimes give medication to induce a period so they can get you back on track. Women's bodies are so variable even from one cycle to the next. Sometimes they need taming lol

I experienced this over Xmas and it was the longest wait for my period. It then came 10 days later. I didn’t take an early pregnancy test but only when in cycle day 32, which was about a week late. Low amh same age. This month took an early pregnancy test and got bfp but it’s been a week since and the tests are not getting darker, rather more faint. So unfortunately it’s not going well and most likely chemical and I was told to wait for period it it can come next cycle. I hope you’ll be fine. I was also told not to worry as period will come but just will become more irregular with lower amh levels.

Thanks ladies. I’ve left a message for the clinic so will see what they say tomorrow. Feeling a bit more at peace with it all this afternoon, I’m not normally such an emotional mess but my hormones seem to be all over the place at the moment - if I’m like this now I feel for my husband when the IVF drugs kick in!

@Leala20 I’m so sorry to hear that - this journey is so tough, I can only imagine how horrible it must be to have the excitement of a BFP and then have that ripped away with fear it may not stick. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you 🤞

I’ve asked my clinic about this before and they told me they would give me norethisterone if I had a very delayed AF. Hopefully you get some answers tomorrow from clinic. Good luck with your first cycle, don’t worry they won’t leave you waiting indefinitely. X

Thanks all - my clinic said if I’ve not had a bleed in 6 weeks they’ll bring me in for a scan and decide what to do next from there.
