What should l expect from random Clomid scan? Cysts?

I got prescribed Clomid last year for unexplained infertility by local NHS hospital. I did 2 cycles last year and 2 this year, the only monitoring l got was a 21 day bloods during cycle 1. They don’t scan and just left us to our own devices. I have felt quite rough this time with ovary pain and tiredness

My fiancé was concerned and convinced me to ring the GP. They then said they would contact the
hospital. This afternoon I got a random phone call to book an ultrasound. They weren’t sure who asked them or what for just an external ultrasound. Just told to arrange it with me and l agreed an appointment

What should l expect? Im assuming they are panicking after doing no monitoring. I’m guessing cyst (s) might be what they are worried about?

Hi, what dose were you prescribed? Don't worry the medication can cause cramping so not necessary cysts. I'm really surprised they didn't do any scans but maybe it's the normal protocol at your clinic. Good luck with your scan X

For my clomid monitoring scans they do a trans vaginal scan.

Check the lining of your uterus, it should thicken over the course of your cycle to make a happy bed for Mrs fertilised egg.

They'll then look at each ovary and see if you have any dominant follicles and measure them. If I had 1 or 2 leading follicles I was told to have sex every 2 days until after ovulation. If there was more than 2 leading follicles, we advised to abandon the cycle due to risk of multiple pregnancy, which is a risk with clomid.
