Follicle size

I am on my first cycle of clomid and just had an U/S which showed a 28mm follicle on one ovary (+ a 12mm) and a 16mm on the other ovary (+ a 13mm). The larger follicle seems quite big to me so I am assuming it could go any time but my ovulation tests aren't showing an LH rise yet. Has anyone else previously had a 28mm+ follicle that they ovulated a day or two after the U/S? Also I am wondering if the 16mm might keep developing in time for ovulation too? I know it's all speculation but I find it quite interesting! Endometrium was 10mm so I'm really happy with that as previously had a thin lining! TIA :)

I think you scan results are amazing and you should be very positive this cycle. The follicles grow at least a mm per day so the second folly will definitely grow. You might have a short LH surge so just watch out. Good luck!

I'm surprised they haven't given you a trigger shot with the dominant follicle reaching that size with no LH surge

Anything over 14mm on day of trigger - ie about 36 hours before being released is capable of containing a mature egg but I'm not sure if you are on clomid and not taking a trigger shot whether your body will naturally release more than one?

@Chicasimona thank you for your lovely reply, so encouraging!

@ivfgottostaypositive I'm not sure if they could give a trigger shot as I went for a private scan rather than with a consultant. However I have had a positive ovulation test this morning so it looks like everyrhing is happening naturally anyway, guessing I will ovulate either tonight or tomorrow. Fingers crossed the 16mm follicle will have matured a bit by then, we will have a better chance if there are two as haven't hard much luck with one so far! Thanks for the info :)
