How long to wait before IVF secondary infertility?

We conceived first time straight away, but ttc #2 is taking far longer. We're now on month 13.

Husband has had a semen analysis and the morphology and motility were low, count is high.

I don't know whether we should throw in the towel and start ivf or continue to hope for a spontaneous pregnancy.

I'm 34 and would like three children and I feel like time is slipping away.

I have a similar background - had DD age 32 (didn't happen first time though and had a miscarriage at 12 weeks first) and always wanted 3 kids 2 years apart.....after DD I had 4 miscarriages....moved onto IVF after an ectopic where I lost my tube and a year of not conceiving.....since then it's been a further 18 months of multiple IVF cycles and another ruptured ectopic so no tubes left now. So the moral of my story is DONT WAIT - I'm 37 now and thought we would have had our family completed but you simply don't know how easy IVF will be and whether it will work the first time. I'm on my 5th cycle now and stopping after this next one.

I'm in a very similar position but my issue this time around is with ovulation so we're hoping ovulation induction treatment will help with ttc number 2. I'm 34 also and have decided to go privately as I've been waiting for 6 months already with the NHS.
I would say don't wait like @ivfgottostaypositive says...I'm kicking myself for waiting those 6 months. Starting private treatment next thursday :)

We have another semen analysis booked and that'll determine how quickly we start ivf icsi if we need to.
However I'm worried that we'll see an improvement in the semen which will make my husband want to continue trying naturally. I don't want to waste time

Similar over here too, DD conceived after 3 months. She’s now 5. In the last 3 years we’ve had 3 miscarriages. I’ve just done 3 months of clomid which didn’t work. Now wondering if we put ourselves through IVF.

@nemo

It wasn't an easy decision for us but we chose to do natural modified IVF this time with very low dose drugs and the whole thing over in less than 2 weeks - I start injections tomorrow evening and I'll have egg collection by next Saturday. It's also cheaper. Can't say it's less stressful but we did get some answers to our recurrent miscarriages in that I have poor egg quality so have been working on making that better

We did go to a private clinic in April last year but the got BFP naturally in May before a MC. Since then we’ve just tried naturally and with clomid. I still have some clomid so I may call the clinic to try IUI before IVF (DH had slight mobility issue on one test but then all was fine on another test.
I have everything crossed for you that you have success with your IVF x
