Does anyone have any experience of this clinic? Website still says shut due to Covid but just wondering if anyone has had good or bad experiences previously? Is anyone part way through treatment there and knows when it might open again?

I can't help on whether the clinic is good or bad, but I requested a brochure from them recently and exchanged a few emails with one of the administrators (who seems lovely). They are organising a virtual open evening for a couple of weeks time - I'd suggest sending an email to say you would like to attend and they will send you the information :-)

Thanks for replying @lawandgin - I will sign up and attend their OE. I did just read a terrifying review of NLC online stating it was the second worst clinic in the country?! I just don't want to go for a London clinic right now and be having to commute on public transport, so was aiming for somewhere local/driveable.

I did attend Create's OE earlier this week as Wimbledon is quite close to me too, but am confused by Mild/Natural benefits, which is what Create seem to mostly be about. Have you been looking at them too?

It's a minefield and tbh I just wish my stupid body would just do what it is supposed to do and I could avoid all this hassle!

Wishing you all the best - maybe we can exchange notes after we've been to NLC open evening?

@porger80 I remember reading something similar, but I don't know how true that is. To be honest I am only in the very early research stages. We have known for years we would need IVF (DH previously married and had vasectomy - reversal failed) but we thought we would worry about the detail once we were actually ready. I have looked at Create, but not in any great detail because we have DH's sperm frozen at the LWC, but for similar reasons to you I would prefer a local clinic. I just can't imagine travelling into London several times a week, especially for EC/ET!

It would be lovely to exchange notes after the open evening Smile

Hi Guys
Jumping on here because I have been/am a patient at NewLife. I had a successful round of IVF with them in 2016 which resulted in my DD who is now 3. 2 failed FETs since and am hoping to start another round of IVF in July.
I would say my experience with them was good...they are like a little family and the nurses are great (bar one who made me feel shitty recently). I would deff recommend doing your research in terms of what you want for example, I had to say I wanted the endo scratch it wasnt something that was suggested to me. You kind have to know what you want and ask for it.
Post Covid they are a little disorganised, their system was down for ages and appointments were a bit of a nightmare. On the day of my transfer I was sent home twice because of delays - the comms between them as a team needs some work and I did feed this back to them. I have had success with them and I have a follow up for my failed FET soon too so will see what the doctor says.

I also looked into Create (back in 2016) and didn't like the vibe there at all. Everything was dark and depressing and it's as if I was a number not an actual person. I also find that with NewLife they prepared treatment around my body not the other way around which is good. I ended up having my transfer at 7pm so they do go all out but like I say you need to be clear and concise in terms of what you want and ask questions.
Hope this helps

@zoeyj that's really helpful, thank you! Can I asked whether you had to go into London for any part of your treatment? I am considering egg sharing, but New Life don't offer this. I might be prepared to have a re-think if it meant I could have all of my treatment locally...

zoeyj · 19/06/2020 18:52

@lawandgin no worries :)
Nope I didn't have to go into London for a thing which is one of the reasons I chose NLC to be honest. Can't be dealing with the faff of getting into London...especially now with Corona. I don't know much about egg sharing but one their USPs are that they're a small family like clinic and everything is done on site in Epsom. Bloods are couriered to London for testing but results always came back the same day a few hours later.

lawandgin · 19/06/2020 20:10

@zoeyj well that sounds really appealing, I have to say. I think I will look a bit harder at NLC now I know that Smile it's just so hard isn't it! I really hope everything goes well for you in July x

porger80 · 19/06/2020 20:17

Thanks @zoeyj that's really helpful. Do you mind me asking how old you were/are when having treatment there?

Did you look at any other Surrey clinics when considering treatment other than Create? I don't want to miss any other options out of my research.

@lawandgin Happy to help, thank you for your well wishes. I hope everything works out for you too!

@porger80 Hello! No of course not. So I started treatment with them when I was 27/28. I did 6 months of clomid, 7th month we found I had immune issues too so did the 7th month of clomid with immune drugs followed by an IUI followed by IVF.

I was actually recommended NLC by...wait for it... my waxing lady! haha. She talked a lot about her struggle with fertility and spoke highly of them. Before I went to NLC I was under Geeta Nagrund at St Georges hospital (found the whole NHS experience horrific... SO SLOW...so that's when I thought I would check out Create as she was one of the lead Docs there so I thought great, she kind of knows my history. But like I said I didn't get a good feeling. There were loads of people in the waiting room, and nurses kept coming in and out asking patients random questions, it didn't feel professional and then when I was called in I was basically talked AT for 40 mins it was like information overload. This is from around that time too so things might have changed a bit.
Are you trying for your first?

porger80 · 19/06/2020 20:53

@zoeyj thanks for replying - no, this would be my second and I'm 40 so I'm aware that even the best clinic in the world can't overcome the science of eggs just getting older! I will give them a proper look and the idea of a family feel really appeals, I loathe hospitals/clinics normally - I would want it to feel as welcoming as possible. Thanks again for your input.

@porger80 No problem, shout if you have anymore questions. The whole process is so scary. xx

porger80 · 23/09/2020 13:13

@lawandgin did you go with Newlife in the end? I've just plucked up courage to book initial appointment although still not convinced IVF is for me... Costs are eye watering!

lawandgin · 23/09/2020 14:59

@porger80 Hi! Funnily enough we attended yesterday for DH to provide a sample for a SA. I didn't go in because of covid restrictions, but DH said it was a lovely clinic with nice people. I'm actually under gynae at my local private hospital (thank god for health insurance) as I'm having very long cycles since coming off the pill and it doesn't look like I'm ovulating! We will only be able to make a decision once we know what's going on with me...but Newlife is very expensive. Have you looked at their all inclusive offer or access fertility packages?

porger80 · 23/09/2020 18:23

Ah that's good to hear that it's nice. And yes I have read all their pricing stuff, I probably would go for their access fertility package if my treatment looked like it might be relatively simple maybe? I don't know enough info yet tbh. Good luck with your tests and your DP's SA, I'll let you know how my consultation goes!
