Do you name your future baby?

My DH and I have a list of names for boys and girls we want to use for our future baby. For example, one for a boy is Sebastian and for a girl Emma.

Of course this future baby may never come into existence, but it's fun to consider the possibility!

Have you all decided a name for your future baby? What is it?

I have a list of boys and girls names in my head but I don't like to dwell on them too much. I've gotten my hopes up so many times only to miscarry/ectopic that to actually think that I'll never get to use them is too upsetting.

But taking a deep breath.....

Yeah true. Guess I'm in a dreamy mood! Nice names. Both already taken in our family lol

My DH and I tentatively talked about names when we started TTC before we knew we would need IVF and now I almost feel like it would be strange to use that name. Like...the baby that was going to be called 'x' was the baby we expected to appear like magic after nine months, not the baby we hope to get through the IVF years later.

That being said, I have no idea how I'll feel if and when we actual have the chance to name a new human!

Ah ok that's interesting mayihavesomecakeplease. Guess we start associating names with the time and place we started considering them. Some names sounded good before but now I've said them in my head too many times and they've lost their appeal. Yes better to plan when actually pregnant...

My husband and I will need bilingual names and most of the boys' names are already "taken" by someone else in the family. We have one in mind, and I just have to hope that if we ever have a son, nobody else uses that name first. Girls' names are much easier as there are so many nice ones that work in both languages.

Bilingual? I never thought of names as mono or bilingual but I guess ones like Maria might count. Yes easier to come up with nice girl names :-) I like ones you can use for both genders like Ashley.

Bilingual in the sense that they are names which exist in both our countries and are pronounced roughly the same in both our languages. All the ones mentioned above would work actually, except maybe George which is spelt a bit differently here so that would be a pain. Plus I have a cousin called George so we wouldn't use it anyway.

The boy's name we both like is Raphael, which is very popular here.

My dc is named the same name we thought of when we don't been together 6 weeks! And we didn't have him till 10 years later!
